Yesterday, February 4, 2014, I went to have my hair straight at Dorcas Dominican Beauty Salon. In the begging of the process of this service and started feeling my scalp burning and the hair dresser left it burning with chemicals for more than 2 hours. Once she washed my hair I told her that my hair was not straightened and my scalp was really hurting. I left this salon without having the service complete finished and terrorized by the pain and rudeness of the owner. I paid for the service in full, $120.00. She asked to go back to have it done again, but I am in a lot of pain, my scalp is burned, I couldn't sleep and I don't want to go back there and then ended up at the hospital after the work. There is very little it can be done if the client refuses to come back to check the hair. She wanted to pay with a check but we don't take personal checks so she paid with a credit card. Have better customer service and be responsible for your acts. Final Business Response This client went to the salon asking for keratin treatment and asking what was the cost. She wanted her hair totally straight. I told her that that the keratin treatment would not leave her hair completely straight because the keratin that we use does not have a lot of chemicals. She decided to have a relaxer instead of the keratin. I tried to be very specific regarding the cost, results, the process and how her hair would look after the relaxer because she seemed to be a very complicated person and also seemed that she was not sure of what she wanted. I did her relaxer and her hair was straight and looked great. I feel I did a wonderful job. Before I blow dried her hair she told me she wanted her hair to be straighter and that she wanted me to relax her hair again and it was already 7pm and that we had started at 4pm because her hair was long, abundant and very curly. I told her that if she wanted a second relaxer, she would have to sign a release because it could over process her hair. She made an appointment to come back on Monday for her second relaxer. When we called her to confirm the appointment, she told us that her scalp was burning, that she had not been able to sleep due to the irritation. My questions are that if her scalp was irritated why would she ask for a second relaxer? Why did she not return immediately so that we could see the alleged irritation? She has not come back to the salon, and most of the complaint we have learned it through the Revdex.com. We strive to please our customers and to be satisfied with our service. Very seldom, like any other business, if we have a complaint, we ask the costumer to return to come to the salon to see what the issues are, but this client as of today has not come to the salon. I believe that it is only fair for us to have the opportunity to see the complaining client. Proper procedures dictate to allow us to see the client's alleged complaint/damage. Mrs. [redacted] came to our salon yesterday to get a full refund on the services we provided her. We had requested her to come to the salon to assess the alleged damage to her hair, but she never did.She did not have any damage on her hair or scalp when she came yesterday. She showed us a picture of her scalp that showed a very small part of her scalp that looked a little red. The Picture was a close up that may give the impression of a bigger problem. We asked her why she had not come sooner, but she had no answer. She did not have any medical bills or anything that would suggest or support her alleged damage. She did not have any damage when she left the salon and did not have any damage when she came yesterday.We were ready to give her a full refund just to get this matter behind us. We gave her a letter to sing that stated that she had not already received a refund from her credit card company but she did not sign it.We proceeded to ask her if she had made dispute on the charges made to her credit card. She said that she had. We asked her if the funds had been returned on her account and she said yes. This was astonishing because she wanted a refund from us when she had already received one.We informed her that we would not issue a refund since she already had received one.
