On Friday evening, we were told "$maybe $or $1600" for a combined major and minor repair At that price, it was worth it to us to have it fixed, but we stipulated that we needed it finished by Wednesday, and if they couldn't promise that, we would have it towed to another shop, where we already had a Monday appointment for the minor repair He said they could start on it on Tuesday and have it finished on Wednesday On Tuesday, he called back and said it would be closer to $(it ended up just shy of $1900), and at that point, we could no longer have it towed to the other shop, where we had given up our appointment When I called to pick it up on Wednesday, his colleague said it would not be ready until Thursday, a costly delay for us When I asked why they had not called to tell us about the delay, he said that he didn't know We simply were hooked w/ the lower verbal estimate, then were forced to wait the extra day with no explanation or apology Our mistake was not getting the initial estimate and repair time in writing
