Review: My wife called to explain the problems she was having with her car and the gentleman told her they could take care of it because it sounded like the coil. She asked when they closed and was told that they close at 5:30 but they leave promptly at 5:30. She told him we would be there by 5:00. We arrived at 4:57 and the place was closed. We left the car in their lot and dropped the key in the the drop box.She called the next day at 7:05 a.m. and told the man that she had dropped the car off and left the key. He told her that they did have it and was getting ready to look at it. She specifically told him to call and let her know the diganostic results and the cost before proceeding. Two hours later the owner calls me and tells me the car is ready. I was surprised and told him my wife said to call her when they knew what was wrong and with the price. He said they made the decision to just go ahead and fix it since it was "just the coil". I then asked him what the cost was and he told me $266.00; which I would not have agreed to as this was higher than I expected. The machanic who we normally use, who was not available for this job, told me the cost for him to do this job would be $160.00.We went the next morning to pick up the car and spoke with the owner to express my dissatisfaction. When I started to try and tell him how unsatisfied we were with his cost and failure to call us before completing the job, he rudely interrupted me and told me "I can take this coil off and put the old one back on right now and you can take the car". (Which he knew would be a 10 minute job) Seeing that we had somewhere we had to be I told him no but that he could make an adjustment to the price. He made no response.Desired Settlement: A $100.00 credit adjustment to the bill.
