Dorsey Auto Sales Reviews (3)

Review: I bought a 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid from Dorsey's Auto Sales, two days later the transmission went out, I took it to three different dealerships, all three of them said that the transmission is bad and it's been bad for a while (I have copies that those dealerships gave me). I took the car back to Dorsey's Auto Sales and talked to Manager [redacted], he told me there is nothing he could do about it and that the car was fine when he had it there! I took it back to one of the dealerships that told me the transmission was bad, they said there is no way that Dorsey's Auto Sales couldn't know about the bad transmission, I again took it to Dorsey's and both [redacted] and [redacted] told me there is nothing they could do! Than the car died and I had it towed to one of the dealerships, they fixed the transmission and the battery that was also bad! Dorsey's didn't offer to cover any of it and kept telling me that the transmission was good (which is a lie according to three different dealerships)Desired Settlement: As of right now I would like to get reimbursed for at least part of the work I did! At least for the battery, speed sensor and getting my car diagnosed at three different places!

I do not understand why this customer is upset. She received an extended warranty with the purchase of this car that should completely cover the transmission problem. As far as the battery goes it is a maintenance item that the warranty does not cover. When you purchase a either a new or used car there are maintenance items that the owner is responsible for and the dealer, warranty company, or manufacturer will not pay for as they see it as the owners responsibility to pay for maintenance. This customer should be raving about how great we are that we took care of her by offering a warranty at our cost that took care of a very expensive transmission repair. There have been times when customers are angry at us because they had to pay for repairs months later. That is why every car that is elgible (99%) that is sold at Dorsey Auto Sales comes with at least a free 3 month 3000 mile limited power-train warranty. This keeps our customers happy and complaints off of the Revdex.com website for the most part. This complaint again I just don't understand?

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9527093, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The dealership is lying as I did not receive a free 3 month 3000 miles Powertrain warranty on the car that I have purchesed, I have the original purchese documents and nowhere on there does it say anything about a free 3 month 3000 miles powertrain warranty, I went back to the dealership multiple times and nobody said anything to me about a free 3 month 3000 miles powertrain warranty that the dealership claims it gives on every car sold there! All I was told is "well the car was running fine while it was here" and nobody said anything about a free powertrain warranty that the dealership claims I received!

As far as the battery goes that is fine that is ok but the dealership is laying that I received a free powertrain warranty for the first 3 months or 3000 miles, If purchese documents are needed to prove that I can provide that as well where you can see that I did not receive a free powertrain warranty like the dealership is claiming I did!

Thank you,

Regards,

I apologise for being unclear on my previous response as I was not feeling well that day and my response is a little unclear. I did nowhere say that this man received a 3 month 3000 mile warranty with the purchase of this car. What I said was unclear so let the following statement clear it up. Every elgible car sold at Dorsey Auto Sales after May 1st 2013 leaves the lot with a 3 month/3000 mile warranty at no charge to the customer due to complaints like this one. Mr [redacted] purchased his car befor this date. What Mr [redacted] did purchase in the negotiations of his car is a 12 Month/12000 mile powertrain warranty at our dealer cost that paid for his transmission repair. I have scanned a copy with his signature on it that I included with this reply. Again he should be thanking me instead of complaining about me. This warranty must have saved him at least $2000 on the repair after subtracting the cost of the warranty. I just don't get it. He bought a used car and got it repaired under the warranty that I sold him for my cost and saved thousands of dollars. Now he has a car with a new transmission that he can enjoy for years to come. If the engine blows up next week it will also be paid for by this warranty and he will have a new engine for free. Yet I am still a bad guy?????????????????????????????

What the owner sold me is a crappy powertrain warranty that he claimed was good, but they only covered $3000 of my transmission repairs and they said that's all they will cover, so yes I got a brand new transmission they covered only $3000 and the transmission was $5500 per [redacted], so I still ended paying up way more then I should have, and also the powertrain warranty company told me I can't use it anymore because I exceeded my $3000 limit, so if my engine does go out they will not cover it like the dealership says, again the dealership is laying

Regards,

Bought a Bronco here a few years back. I got treated fairly and with respect and appreciated the way [redacted] talked to me as a person. He turned out to be a fair man to do business with and a straight shooter. I highly recommend dorsey Auto Sales.

Review: Dorsey Auto Sales sold us a 2003 VW Passat W8 and claimed it had nothing wrong with it. 2 days later the check engine light came on and come to find out it needed a new transmission, thermostat, temp. sensor, radiator was leaking, the tires were completely worn and discontinued. After many phone calls, he started to not answer them or return any messages and knew he was in the wrong. We finally got a hold of the owner, T.A. Dorsey, and they fought to pay for any of it. They sold us a faulty warranty that was supposedly "bumper to bumper" and it hardly covered anything. He said to drive it for 1000 miles after buying it on the bad transmission to make it seem like it wasn't pre-existing before getting it repaired by the warranty. The warranty he did give us would not cover the W8 model, so he had to fax over a different warranty real quick that would cover that model, which cost less than what I paid for the original warranty, and I never got the difference of that back. Pat Stewart, the salesman, said he would pay for my deductible for the repairs, and never did. Finally, after much drama, the owner agreed to pay for the parts that weren't covered by the warranty if I paid for the labor, but he ended up only paying for one part and I was stuck with a bill I should have never had. They did not do anything they said they would. Very unprofessional and rude.Desired Settlement: We want this place investigated because we are not the only people they have done this to. They need to be held accountable for their false representation.
