The previous negative Revdex.com review from 11-**-reflects our own experience with Scott of Turn-key Modular Homes of Southampton and now of Southold, NYAs first time home builders we put our trust in this man to build us a homeHe was a great salesman and up until the day the home was delivered and he assured us it would be finished within months he answered our every call and questionAs soon as we paid him for the delivery of the home he literally disappeared and left us on our own to figure out the process of finishing it off and dealing with his subcontractorsHe led us to believe that he would be coordinating his subcontractors before we paid for the homeThe truth is that there was absolutely no coordination of any work at allIt was a free for all with work getting done in bits and pieces that had to be undone and redone at our expense because none of it was completed in any sort of logical mannerHis carpenter would show up for a few days at a time and then not be seen again for or weeks to do a little more work and then try to charge us extra for things that we had already paid forIt was frustrating and stressfulAs his carpenter frankly stated to me when I asked him why he was so sporadic he said he had his own business and he didn't make enough money finishing off these modular houses to make it worth his whileSome of the finished carpentry can only be described as shoddy workmanship probably because the mentality was get as much done in the little time he had to devote to itAlmost a year later the project was still not completed and finally ended up costing almost 50% over what he told us it would costI saw stick built houses started and completed while our modular home, which was supposed to be finished in two months, stood there unfinishedI still have a hole in one of my walls with a wire sticking out of it from when the home was deliveredScott had no idea why the hole was there or what the wire was forThere are cracks in the walls where the house settledScott's response was that if he had some spackle he would fix it himself but made no attempt to rectify the issuesDo your research before you buy a modular homeWe didn't
