Do's & Don'ts of Moving Reviews (3)

Dear Revdex.com: We are in need of your assistance as we have been scammed by this company, the Do's and Don't's of Moving located in North Carolina. We recently hired this company to move us and their drivers lost over $150 in pots and pans and the owner, [redacted], stated in late March via both email and during a phone conversation that she would reimburse us $150 as they did not have any insurance for lost items, just on boxes, which, to me, seems ridiculous. It has been over a month since we were promised the monies and now the owner is not returning any texts, emails or phone calls. The owner of this company has stated that she has been in [redacted] and could not send the payment. If I am not mistaken, there are post offices in [redacted] as well as there are in the entire USA. This shows poor business acumen and a lack of business ethics and they need to be dealt with in a prompt manner. We have already asked [redacted] to shut down their advertisements as they are not a LLC as they make claim and we believe that the testimonials on their website are false and misleading. Please process a complain on our behalf. The website is below: http://ddsmoving.webs.com/The phone number we have is: XXX-XXX-XXXXOur contact info is:[redacted] XXX-XXX-XXXX Thank you.Desired Settlementreimburse us $150

Movers came to help me move my things to a storage facility and forgot the largest box in front of my home. Company was unresponsive.Movers came to my home (1-23-2014) to help me move my things to a storage facility. I called and arranged for the movers on the 20th. They used the largest box to hold open the door as they loaded the truck. They forgot to put this last box into the truck. I had discussed with them during the move not to forget the box. After returning home from the storage facility I saw the large box out in my front yard. When I called the driver they told me to contact the company which I did and they never responded to my many messages. In fact I was never able to get a live person on the phone again. I paid for two hours (185) although they finished in 1 and gave the drivers a $15 tip. This was at the storage facility, before I returned home to find the box had been forgotten. I paid in cash.Desired SettlementI had to pay another driver $40 to help me move the box. I am asking for this amount back from this company.

during my move the movers knocked paint off the hallway wall in multiple areas. Was told that that someone would be repairing it but nothing. I contact D&D of Moving because my other mover hiked up the prices. I was given a decent price. My move was scheduled for 10/30. the lady [redacted] worked with me and I thought for sure that I made a good choice. While the movers were moving my things to the third floor of my new place, I heard the movers getting frustrated and huffy about getting an item upstairs. When they were finished moving me in the lead mover explained to me that they could not get the box spring to the third floor because the hallway was narrow. I responded with okay thats fine because they were charging $35 by the half hour so I needed to go ahead and pay them. I follow the main guy outside to pay him . When I returned the other mover had then taken the box-spring to the third floor himself. When he did this it caused him to rip paint off the walls throughout the hall way. When I saw what had happened along with the lead mover he (the lead mover) stared to fuss at the the second mover and told him "that's why I told you not to do that" the second mover responded with obscenities about it not being a big deal and all I need to do is get some paint. I was okay until then because I told them that I would have to pay for the damage as it is not my house. When they left I decided to call [redacted] to inform her of the damage and of the unprofessionalism that I just witnessed. She apologized about the movers language and then assured me that they would fix the wall that week as soon as she got the pictures that I would need to send to her. I sent her all the pictures that I had along with my availability for that week of (9/30/13). I emailed her the pics on 9/30 at 5:11 pm and she said she got them. I guess none of the dates worked because she did not respond to me. I confirmed with her that on 10/7/ that he had left over paint and asked her what the next steps were. I sent here an email on 10/18 asking if she had time yet she confirmed on 10/18 that they do not have a time yet and that she needed to get with a guy named [redacted]. I was then told via email on 10/19 at 8:36 pm that they were going to try to make it next week which the current week we are in (10/21) She asked me to send her reminder on Monday. I was being nice and sent her a reminder on Wednesday both by email and text and here we are almost a month later and nothing. I simply want them to fix the hallway that is it. I am trying to be patient before I get someone else to do it and make these guys reimburse me.Desired SettlementPlease repair!
