Double A Contracting

Scott and his crew did a wonderful job finishing our basement. His price was competitive, the work was completed in a timely manner and done to my standards. He was great in communicating where they were in the process, when they would be on the job site and if they were not going to be there. Overall, we are very satisfied with the work that they did.

Review: I signed a construction contract with [redacted] (principal contractor/owner)of [redacted] Construction Technologies LLC (also doing business as Double A Contrating LLC) on 5/26/12 and gave the contractor $15000 as the first of four draws for the "Garage/Apartment" project. One full year passed and all that had been completed was basic lot preparation and a slab with knee walls. The framing then occurred within a 2 month period, and that is where it remains today, nearly a year and a half after signing the contract. It should be noted that a second draw of $15000 was given to the contractor following the framing was complete, specifically for windows, doors, siding, and roofing. None of these materials have been seen on-site, and [redacted] Construction Technologies/Double A Contracting has not responded to emails or phone messages for a month now.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my $15000 back, or have $15000 of appropriate materials (windows, doors, siding, roofing) delivered to the site. If necessary, I would allow [redacted] to complete $15000 worth of work (materials and labor) to make the structure weather tight, if completed in a timely manner (e.g., 2 months). After this work, I wish to terminate this contract, and find a contractor that will do as agreed upon in the contract.
