Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
This vehicle had a problem One day after purchase and I called and brought it to their attention only for it not to be fixed correctly and therefore making the initial problem that I brought it in to be fixed not done properly They would not even listen and let me bring it in to be looked at which is a bit suspicious to me given I purchased this from them a few months prior and called about the same related issue Most businesses would at the very least listen and take into consideration in which they did not and handled the situation not in a professional manner They say about a longer warranty in which I was NOT offered or I would of got it for a year old car.
Regards,

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:We had continuous problems with the car since we purchased the car on July 15, 2014.  There was not a time during the approximately 3 months that we owned the vehicle that there was not error messages being displayed on the dashboard.  The car obviously was a lemon.  Additionally, we were told that the vehicle was never in an accident which turned out to be untrue.  I was under the impression that car salespeople were required to let you know if a vehicle was in an accident.  We put money out to have a fender fixed which was due to a previous accident according to the body shop.  We also put out money to have the automatic tire pressure sensors replaced and those sensors were faulty from day 1 (sensor error messages on dashboard).  In Bechtel Auto response they said it was not their problem that we only got $7,000 for the vehicle.  We got three estimates on the value of the vehicle and $7,000 was the highest estimate we got.  Bechtel Auto had to know about the accident, but lied to us when we inquired.  They know that the vehicle would have been worth less money, but ignored the accident and sold us the vehicle as used, no accident for a larger purchase price.
Overall, the vehicle has been a nightmare since the day we purchased the vehicle.  There have been error messages continually since Day 1; obviously the vehicle was a lemon.  We were lied to by Bechtel Autp when we questioned if the vehicle was in an accident, likely because they wanted to get a larger profit on the vehicle.  How can a company be so dishonest.  I understand that companies want to make a profit, but lying to buyers is unacceptable.  They know that the vehicle was a lemon, but will not admit to that.  All I am looking for is retribution for the overvalue that they sold us the vehicle for and money we paid out for repairs on the vehicle from previous problems with the vehicle before we purchased the vehicle.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
As responded from Bechtel, the name is [redacted] the owner of the [redacted], and [redacted] is my name (my Mother named me that).  I purchased the vehicle with 64,370 miles and it currently has 69,113 on it so I have not driven it much. When I purchased this [redacted], that same night the engine light went on and it was making a noise, usually when you buy a vehicle you do not drive it off of the lot and already start having issues.  Bechtel's said it was an issue with the oil pump and pressure and that they would fix it (do not know why this was not checked before sale).  And when the car broke down and engine light came on we brought directly to a mechanical locally and he said it was due to a lack of oil pressure which is the same issue we brought it back to Bechtel's 1 day after purchase we had to call them.  That should not happen and it was not fixed correctly to begin with, if they sold it to us like that, there quality procedure was missed or it was a quick fix and not done properly.  They just wanted to get this car off of there lot and took advantage of a situation, this [redacted] has not even been driven more then 4,743 miles and the engine has already failed.
To follow up - One day after purchase this [redacted] had issues which were not fixed before this car was sold, this should of been done before they offered it for purchase.  I did the correct thing and called and brought back in which was tough because then had to give my car back again and did not have a vehicle for a week.  The original issue that was brought back for did not get fixed correctly and I believe they just did a patch job and di not fix correctly.  I have not driven this car for more then 4743 miles and the engine has already failed.  When called the business, they would not take anything into consideration or even ask to take a look at it, they just said it is not here fault and gave an attitude.  It took three days to even get the owner on the phone in which he did not want to listen and get very defensive and also gave an attitude when was just concerned and worried.  The vehicle was purchased for 8572 and now an engine will cost 3500 less then six months from purchase.
Also, the extended warranty was never offered or explained at the time of purchase.  I would of 100% purchased this "extended warrantly" if they would of offered it.  So in return I am not satisfied with this businesses response for they are not taking any responsibility.
Regards,
[redacted]

At first everything seemed fine. Mr. Bechtel (owner) was negotiable with price and seemed like a decent guy who valued his word. However.....
I test drove and purchased a 2001 Jeep Cherokee from Mr. Bechtel. I arrived next day to drive it home. Approximately 10 miles down the road it overheated. I took the vehicle back and him and his mechanic looked it over, swapped the radiator cap, and sent me on my way. Everything seemed to check out and I was very appreciative of their help. However, 10 miles down the road it overheated again. Once again I took it back and he said to leave it with him overnight and he would get a local shop to take a look and let me know the verdict.
After several days and many attempts to reach him I finally got a hold of Mr. Bechtel. He told me the mechanic told him "there was some type of blockage in the engine and that it would cost too much to go digging to find out what the issue was". I know my way around Jeeps and told him likely issues that could be investigated. He told me he wasn't interested and that he would give me my money back if I sent him the title and other paperwork back. I was upset and frustrated, but fair enough.
THEN about two to three weeks later I check out the inventory on his website and lo and behold he has posted the SAME Jeep for the SAME price and has failed to mention that there is anything wrong with it. I shot him an email asking if it was for sale and if he got it running again. He replied to me saying that I was right in predicting a crack in the head (common issue with the head casting used on that motor), but that another customer already put a deposit down on the vehicle. OK fine, so the vehicle is for all intent and purposes sold to someone else.
Not trusting his story, a friend of mine sent him an email inquiring about the same Jeep. Mr. Bechtel replied to him that it was in great condition, no issues, still had the "new car smell", and that he should come take a look because it wouldn't last long. He failed to inform my friend that the vehicle has a cracked head and therefore overheats, and also failed to mention that another customer put a deposit on it. He has lied about so many things I'm not sure if a customer even put a deposit on it and he was trying to get me to leave him alone, or if he is going to screw another customer out of a deposit if someone walks in with a better deal.
I am extremely dissatisfied with the service of Doug Bechtel Auto Sales. I would never do business with him again, and I caution others who plan to.

Review: I purchased a used 2001 [redacted] six months ago. The next day the Oil/Service light came on and had a minor shake in the vehicle when driving or starting the car so we brought it in because the oil light was on and to check the oil pressure. We brought it back to Bechtels where we purchased the vehicle. They said they would look into and fix, the light would still come on and they said it is an older vehicle and it was alright. Two weeks ago when driving and stopping at a light the car really began shaking and engine light came on. We brought it to the nearest auto shop to look at and they said it was the Oil pressure in the engine and we would need to replace the entire engine. When we took to auto shop we had to replace the radiator and there was a crack in the rod which cost $1374.00 just for that and now a new engine is needed. Initially they did not fix the problem and patched the item not fixing it correctly and sold a bad car to me. When I tried to reach them they would not listen and I had to call back three days in a row to finally reach the owner and when he did get on the phone he would not look at or want anything to do with and said it is our problem. I believe they ripped us off with the car initially and then did not fix the problem, coolant was leaking and they did not fix it and everything happened 1 day after purchasing the car and just doing a patch job. You should not drive off the lot and already have issues and not fix it correctly and take advantage of people are do not know much about cars. Currently the car is just sitting there and do not have a vehicle to drive due to this. They did not listen or take any ownership to the situation.Desired Settlement: I would like them to replace the engine in which we need now after only having the car for 6 months and had nothing but issues with it. Replacement or reimbursement for the fix,
