Review: I purchased a 2007 [redacted] truck from Douglas Brothers Paving, Jerry P[redacted]. During the test drive the check engine light came on. Jerry agreed that I should not take the truck that night and he would get the problem that caused the light to come on fixed. Jerry called me and said the light was fixed, that it was a sensor. We set up a time and date to complete the sale. We were to meet in [redacted], Pa, which was about halfway for us. We set out to meet in [redacted]. After about 2 hours into the trip, Jerry called me to say that the light came back on, but the truck was running fine. We met in [redacted], the truck had the check engine light on. I expressed my concerns, and suggested that I hold back $1000 of the $24,000 sale price, take the truck, and get it fixed. Jerry would not agree to that, but said that he would take care of whatever was causing the light to come on, or he would buy back the truck form me. We talked for a long time and he had me convinced that it was a fuel filter or something like that. I paid Jerry in full, signed some paperwork, and bought the truck with the understanding he would take care of it if it didn't clear itself up. (fuel problem). I drove the truck and the light came back on shortly. After $500 and several phone calls with Jerry, who assured me he could take care of it, the truck was diagnosed with a bad turbo. I bought the turbo and installed it. The truck ran better immediately and the check engine light has not come back on. I am $2100 into it and now Jerry wont answer the phone.Desired Settlement: Pay for the repairs that fixed the check engine light.

To Whom It May Concern:On and about May 20th 2014 I Jerry P[redacted] delivery a 2007 [redacted] Truck to [redacted] Pa to meet with [redacted], the buyer. Prior to the delivery, I had a certified mechanic scan the vehicle before it left [redacted] Pa. The scan read that no bad codes were found. As I was delivering the truck, the check engine light came on. I advised [redacted] not to take the truck that day. He wanted to take the truck and drive it home. I told [redacted] if anything major happened on the way home with the truck. would come and pick it up and make it right by fixing it. He called me later that day and told me he made it home fine with the truck.On June 2nd 2014 we had numerous conversations about the Engine Turbo being bad. At that time I ask [redacted] to bring the truck to my facility in [redacted] I could fix the bad engine turbo. [redacted] refused to bring the truck to get fixed. I was trying to fix the problem and [redacted] was making it impossible for me to fix the problem. He took it upon himself to fix the engine turbo in the truck.[redacted] purchased the truck for $24000 and the asking price was $25,500, in the truck for trader. In the Blue Book the average valve of the truck is $28,000. Average Price for the truck from a dealer is $32,500.SincerelyJerry P

I am rejecting this response because:

There isn't much truth in Jerry's accounting of how the transaction all took place. He continually assured me that he would fix the truck and make it right to me and my wife.

At the end of the day, I was forced to fix the truck at my expense. I spent more that $2,000 on the repair.

If he would have fixed it, then why won't he help me out with the cost.

There wont be any satisfaction until he takes care of the bill as he told me he would.

Shame on me for not getting it in writing and taking he for his word.

At this point if Jerry would agree to half of the cost of repairs, I will drop my complaint.

He told my wife and I many, many times he would fix it.
