There is a collection account reporting derogatively and regularly on my credit. For months, I have made numerous attempts to contact this agency for verification of the said amount owed and possible resolution. The phone number listed on *** only rings and is never answered. The *** search states the business is closed. The alternate number on their Facebook account doesn't even ring. I am in the process of rebuilding my credit by good old hard work and have no problem in paying what can be proven that I owe. I have received unknown calls on my cellphone while I'm at work, leaving broken and partial messages from a no name agency stating they are sending a debt for legal action. Without verifying my debt or even speaking to anyone, the situation cannot be resolved.

Douglas Chancellor Meyer is reporting a negative unverified account on my credit report. Douglas Chancellor failed to respond to my debt validation letter sent on 10/02/2019. I have previously sent a request to validate this debt under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and all I received was an itemized list of the alleged charges you claim I owe you. This does not meet the Federal Trade Commissions guidelines of what constitutes proper debt validation. I notice that DCM is still reporting this collection on my credit report, which is considered to be a collection activity.

I suspect fraudulent activity I notice a collection from Douglas Chancellor that shows derogatory on my Credit Report... I never heard or had contact with this company, attempts to reach this company have been in vain, it says the company is no longer in business.

We are no longer using due to not getting the funds they collected on our behalf and will also be filing a suite.

Viewed my credit report and saw that this was the collection that I had to pay for an account with a loan company. Paid the amount off in June 21,2019 and was sent an email for that paid in full with authorization code. Now its 10/10/2019 and I try and apply for a loan and I was denied because the loan that was paid in june 21, 2019 never went to the loan company and it showed that I had an balance still with them. So I called the loan place corporate office and explain that I paid the collection through Douglas Chancellor and they informed me that I had to call Douglas Chancellor and have them contact Americash to verify that my acvount has been paid. So I called Douglas Chancellor on the number that was sent to me on the payment confirmation sheet in the email and all it keep saying is hold while your call is being transferred and then it will say connection failed and disconnect the call. I'm not sure how to get a hold of this Douglas Chancellor company but I really need this to be rectified immediately given the fact that I paid off the loan months ago and it haven't been reported to the loan place as paid.

This company is currently being summoned to court for breach of contract. They were hired for a service and have failed to pay us amounts owed to us. Several calls and emails run arounds and the President himself is never in the office, sick, or taking care of some emergency. Enough excuses. This company is avoiding to pay us our money at all cost.

In 2014 I took out two payday loans with *** Loans. At some point I defaulted on the loans and *** garnished my wages to fulfill the remaining balance of the loans. I received my original contracts back from *** stamped paid in full. On July 12, 2018 Douglas Chancellor Meyers, a debt collection company, listed a new item on my credit report for $147.00 with the original creditor listed as *** loans. I called *** and they stated that all of my loans were paid in full and I needed to contact Douglas Chancellor Meyers to have the item removed. As of 6/28/19, I have never received a phone call or letter notifying me of this debt or my ability to dispute it. On 5/22/19 I sent a certified letter to Douglas Chancellor Meyers disputing this debt, and requesting proof of the debt owed. As of today, 6/28/19, I have not received an acknowledgement of receipt of the letter, nor the documentation requested. Meanwhile the debt is continuing to be reported to the credit bureau with the last reporting on 6/17/19. This is lowering my credit score, and for a debt I do not owe.

DCMA received consumer *** request for validation and submitted a document request to ***. *** emailed DCMA back stating that this account was sent to our office in error, and to close the account. Immediately, 7/1/19 DCMA closed the account as placed in error, and sent a request to the reporting credit bureau for this to be deleted from *** credit.

I have been very cooperative, ill answer or return their calls, I've asked for them to sent confirmation of this debt, they failed to do so then I was still willing to pay after speaking to the original collector, I asked them to send a letter saying they would delete this account I never got the email. I've dealt with 3 other companies were I've paid to delete never have I had this problem. also they told me I was lying and got the information I asked for, the president is the most rudest nastiest man I've ever spoke to. I'm 9 months pregnant after being on the phone with them all day after work I went to labor and delivery later that night I was so upset! I would rather pay a lawyer now

In response to this complaint, we have provided all documents to this customer on numerous occasions via email and postal mail. We offered to delete the acct from her

credit report as well if she paid off the acct. Her acct was placed in our office in Jan 2018. We have talked with the customer numerous times and she has been verbally

abusive to the staff here and all of calls have been recorded and logged. The consumer knows this debt is valid which is why it's reporting to her credit report. She has refused all forms of repayment to her acct. We've offered numerous options to try to assist the customer in rectifying her acct.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: They are lying I haven’t receive any mail or email from this company, if you listen to these recorded calls you will hear how rude the customer service is plus the owner was to me and I got rude after they were rude to me! They haven’t sent anything to verify this debt they continue to lie about it, when I’ve answered all calls and tried to be patient with them it has been almost a year I’ve been trying to pay they have sent me nothing in writing or email. I’ve had several things deleted this year and I always pay what I owe I have documentation to prove it, but this company is the worst and hasn’t done anything they are saying! They need to be shut down for falsely saying that I’ve received something that I didn’t! Even tho I asked for the information several of times on their recorded line!

Sincerely

This company is trying to collect an alleged debt that has already been paid for and they are inaccurately reporting on my credit report

Proof that this alleged debt has already been paid and im requesting douglas chancellor to delete their credit line from my credit report

Douglas Chancellor Meyers & Associates Response • Dec 18, 2018

Complainant attached a receipt from ***. We are collecting on behalf of ***, which is a completely different company. Apparently, he obtained loans from both places. The one from our client remains unpaid. If he needs additional information, he can contact our office at *** or ***, or consult the placement letter which we would have mailed to him.

Customer Response • Dec 19, 2018

I have never taken out an loan from ***. I only have taken out an loan from ***. I will be filing an police report and contacting the federal trade commission for identity theft.

They placed an account on my report, that might be outside the statute of limitation, never sent me a letter or gave me any opportunity to pay it or make an arrangement before placing it on my report.

Douglas Chancellor Meyers & Associates Response • Aug 09, 2018

The debt was incurred in November 2013, and is not out of statute. Complainant disputed the debt with our office, and has been sent all documentation of the debt in the mail. Since the documentation contains personally identifying information, as well as a copy of her check and drivers license, I can't send it by email. However, if complainant authorizes the documentation to be uploaded to your website, we will gladly do so. Should complainant wish to resolve her debt, she should contact our office at ***.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: First of all, I would have done ACH, and not used a check. Second of all that does not explain compromising my credit report without contacting me. I have also received no such documentation.

Sincerely

I am writing this complain because I do not know where this debt has originated from. It is on my credit report and has somehow been verified to the credit bureaus without any kind of correspondence being sent to me. I do not ignore collection processes, as I am very knowledgeable on the process. I have not spoken to any such collection agency regarding the alleged balance due. Written verification of this debt is to be sent in verification to any dispute done through writing. As far as I know I do NOT own this debt.

Douglas Chancellor Meyers & Associates Response

I have attached the original loan document signed by the complainant, and a copy of his driver's license and check which were provided at the time of the loan. Person information such as social security number and driver's license number have been redacted from this document prior to uploading to this site. Should complainant wish to receive unredacted copies by mail, discuss an accounting of the amount owed, or discuss settlement of this account, he may contact our office at ***.

Customer Response

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: The third party debt collector has no contract nor written agreement from me on this FUARDULENT DEBT. At this time litigations are in place on the creditor of the fraudulent documentation. In the attachment below is a document that has a forge signature on a contract I never signed nor receive funds for. Please resolve the issue.
Sincerely

They continue to call even after the bills been paid in full and the debts been cleared with the company the debt was with. They don't even leave voicemails you can understand or they cut out and only leave parts of the number. Its obnoxious to call repeatedly and not leave accurate and comprehensive information to be called back.

Douglas Chancellor Meyers & Associates Response

We have not been notified by the company that any payment was made. We will contact the company after the holiday and check on that. If they verify that the account was paid, we will close it. If complainant prefers, she can provide proof of payment and we'll close the account immediately.

Douglas Chancellor Meyers & Associates Response

We have contacted the client, and they advised us that contrary to this complaint, the balance due on this account has not been paid. We have suspended collection calls for one week. During that time, if complainant will provide us with proof of payment, we will take the matter up with the business to whom she owes a debt. Otherwise, we will proceed with our lawful and proper attempts to collect this debt.

I was initially contacted via phone on 9.27.2017 regarding an attempt to collect a debt. I requested that a copy of the apparent contract they claim I signed obligating me to said debt to be sent over for my review. DCM representative told me they did not have any of the contracts at that time from their client and was waiting on the client to send said documents over. I asked once they receive the contracts to please let me know and we could discuss the debt and contract at that time. I have received several automated calls over 2 weeks since with a recording asking that I speak with a representative. 10/11/17 another automated call; I selected to speak with a representative. Asked that I be taken off the automated called based on my previous conversation that I would be contacted once DCM received documents and proof of contract. Was told that I could not be taken off the automated calls, asked again for the contract, was told again they do not have the contracts, was threatened that my employer was going to be contacted and the papers were in hand ready to be faxed to my employer. I asked several times again about the apparent signed contract and how they could be contacting my employer. Was told that this was hitting my credit and was never given a direct answer on when I would see this contract obligating me to the debt. I still have not been provided with the details or terms via this contract DCM claims I signed and obligates me to debt. It has been 2 weeks since I initially requested proof of contract and I have not received any proof. Just rude, pushy and threatening exhcanges.

Douglas Chancellor Meyers & Associates Response

Per our records, the signed contract was emailed to complainant yesterday. I have also attached a copy of the contract to this response. As we have provided the requested documentation, collection efforts will proceed.
