Review: I was referred to a dentist that was supposed to be 'pain free' and I was to 'not feel anything and I won't be awake, it will be like a little cocktail I was told. And that I wouldn't remember anything...Well while the dentist and his helper were performing the surgery to remove 8 of my back teeth and to put a crown on one tooth, I woke up to voices and saw the dentist and his assistant standing over me. I was kicking and trying to alert them that I was awake, but they both continued to work on my teeth. I could hear the crunching and cracking sounds that my teeth were making and I also felt Pain... When my husband wrote to the dentist ( mr. [redacted] ), he denied that he was responsible for anything... I will send you a copy of my letter and a copy of the letter that he set to us in return...We tried to get him to at least return the money for my i.v. anesthetic treatment, since it didn't work...I would now like to be refunded the whole amount that was charged to us, unfairly...Desired Settlement: To be refunded the entire amount that was taken from us, unfairly... we were both ( my husband and myself) told that I wouldn't feel any pain and that I wouldn't remember any of the treatment...Minimum refund: to be refunded all of the costs associated with the i.v. anesthetic treatment that failed terribly...

Response:
It is not unusual for a patient to wake up and even recall parts of the procedure. The records clearly show that she was given appropriate amounts of both local and IV anesthetic agents considering factors such as the procedure being performed as well as the overall health of the patient. The records also show there were no complications with the procedure which includes the anesthesia/sedation.

Response:
I am rejecting this response because: I woke up during the procedure and was scrunched down in the dentist chair and looking up at the nurse and the dentist and trying to get their attention to tell them to stop because I was feeling and hearing them working on me. I was awake. You promised me that I wouldn't wake during the procedure or recall any of it, that I would be fully sedated enough not to feel or hear anything that was happening. That wasn't the case at all. You try to justify your procedure, but; it didn't work right for me.
