The service department refuses to allow my mother (who is paying the bill onto the property). They stated they will have her removed by police.
On 8/7 I took my 2018 Jeep Renegade to Douglas Jeep for an airbag Message on my dash. They proceeded to tear apart the inside of the vehicle while the problem was under the hood unobstructed from view. Rodents had chewed through 2 wires. I asked for a total price for repairs they proceeded to give me an amount of approximately $1,100 just for labor no repair and no tax was included. They also could not provide me with the price for the rental car. My fiance called and was told that the total cost would be approximately $1,080.00 and the rental car was $30/day. I contacted my insurance company and they sent out an adjuster. As this is my first time having an issue like this I was unsure of how to proceed. I spoke with John in the service department on 08/14 at 8:12 am. He proceeded to talk to me like an it and was unable to provide me with the total amount I would owe if I wanted to come and make the payment. My mother and father , *** and *** offered to pay for the repairs. When they proceeded to call the dealership and inquire about a payment plan or if they needed to come see the car the response by John was that if they stepped foot on the dealerships property they would be forcibly removed by police. I have filed a complaint with the dealership as this was an attempt to make payment and was met with threat of police action if my parents came to pay for the vehicle.

Desired Outcome

They have charged me to remove and reinstall the interior of my car which should have never been done. The issue was in the engine block and was clearly visible upon opening the hood. On top of that they proceeded to threaten my parents who were trying to pay the bill with police action. I want a formal apology to my parents as well as an adjustment for the unnecessary work that was performed.

Good Afternoon,

The business and I have resolved the issue.

I would like to close the complaint.

This dealership has failed to send my cancellation of a service contract and refund the monies for the cancellation to my lender
I purchased a 2016 Nissan Versa Note from this dealership on 3/31/18. I agreed to purchase a GAP contract and Service contract when the sales person said it would only cost an additional $7 per month. My own fault for not checking the figures but it ended up being more than $7 per month and I went in on 4/3/18 to sign a cancellation. I was told I needed the loan number for my bank since the refund would go to them. I went back again on 4/5/18 with the loan number and signed the cancellation documents. I checked with the contract companies on 4/26 and they still showed both contracts as active. I spent a day on the phone on 4/27/18 to find out why these were not yet canceled. After numerous calls I was told it was too early, that is takes 4-6 weeks. Yesterday 5/17/18 was the 6th week. I called the less expensive GAP policy today and found out it was canceled on 4/27/18. I then called the Service contract company and found out it is still active. My bank does not show the credit of $399.00 for the policy that was canceled 3 weeks ago, and of course, since the other contract STILL has not been canceled there is no credit for $2199.00. I have given the dealership plenty of time to get these cancellations in and refund the money to my lender.

Desired Outcome

I would like the dealer to cancel the $2199.00 service contract with Pro Certified Lifetime Wrap Plus, CNA National Warranty Corporation and send the refunded amount to my lender. For the GAP policy which is already canceled, I would like them to send the refund amount of $399.00 to my lender.

I called and left a message for Ms. as soon as I received this letter on May 25, 2018. I verified that the GAP insurance was cancelled and re-input the cancellation of the service contract. The person who previously handled the cancellation also verified that he had sent the information to the service contract company in April, but it apparently did not go through electronically, nor did he follow up to make sure that it had been received. I assured Ms. that I would personally follow up on the cancellation this time. She will receive the credit to her loan for the full amount due to her as of her initial date of cancellation for both products. I also apologized for the delay, and I have taken steps to make sure that future cancellations have a verification step in place to prevent future issues. Let's keep this open until all the monies are credited properly to her loan account.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The GAP policy has been cancelled and the $399 has been refunded to my bank, the service contract refund of $2199 has not yet been refunded to my bank.
The dealer has agreed to keep this open until all monies have been properly refunded. I will keep checking daily.

I have verified that the service contract is cancelled. We are awaiting the return of the funds from CNA and will forward them to the bank immediately. Once they are all in, I will also forward any interest that Ms. would have paid on these amounts that goes beyond 8 weeks from the April 3 original date of cancellation.

Serviceman lied multiple times. My vehicle got covered 3 different times with synthetic particles while on their dealer lot and I was forced to get my car cleaned at a high out-of-pocket expense. I was told to give them the bill, and the dodged my emails and phonecalls for over a month. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Douglas Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram Response • May 16, 2018

Mr., first, we do not generate "synthetic particles" that are released into the air. Second, yours is apparently the only vehicle out of hundreds that we serviced that was supposedly affected. Still, we offered to detail your car for you, but you chose to go get what you purported to be a $900 detail. Your service writer told you he would bring the matter to the managers' attention, which he did. Your request was reviewed and rejected as unreasonable.

DO NOT GO TO DOUGLAS JEEP! READ BELOW:

Unfortunately, the response by Douglas Jeep is full of lies for the following reasons:

First-There is a reasonable expectation that when my car is left overnight (for mutliple nights in this case) at your facilty for work to be done on it, that it should come back in a similar condition as when it was dropped off; especially a $130,000+ Dodge Viper. On three different occasions, my Dodge Viper had a thick layer of synthetic particles on it. Drake, the parts service representative, admitted that these particles came off the roof next door, and that it had happend for awhile to other cars. Furthermore, he told me that he would move the cars that evening, and he didn't want to see this happen again in the future. In my future visits to the dealership, there were still cars packed side-by-side covered by these synthetic particles.

Second-Multiple other cars are affected by these synthetic particles on a daily basis at Douglas Jeep, as was noted in person by walking around them with Don (your service manager) and Drake. Don, even took his own camera out and took pictures of the situation, and apologized to me for what happened. Drake blamed this on the business next door. Furthermore, this happend not once, but three different times to my vehicles and continued to happen. Travis from your dealership said that there was nothing that could be done differently because of the small size of your dealership lot.

Third-Clearly, Douglas Jeep did not read my email and the detail bill, as my detail bill (which was noted by a professional, to be covered with synthetic material) was for one detail of $300 and not for $900 as Douglas Jeep lied about in their response. On good faith, I originally asked to only be reimbursed for only one of the details ($300.00) of my 2015 Dodge Viper. Your staff offered for a detailer used by Douglas Jeep to look at my car, after I waited for days longer than promised on my the servicing of my vehicle, after hours, fully knowing that I had an appintment that afternoon and that I couldn't leave my mother at her doctor's appointment without a ride. Pictures and documentation were taken at Douglas Jeep to show that this occurred there, and it was admitted by service manager Don and service representative Drake that these synthetic particles were in-fact covering multiple other vehicles on your lot.

Fourth-After showing Travis from Douglas Jeep how disgusting my car came after the third time this happened, he told me to send him the bill. It took 15 phonecalls and 5 emails for over a month to get one response for Travis at Douglas Jeep, after Drake told me he had forwarded him my emails multiple times.

Fifth-Any more lies will be deemed as defamation as clear documentation has been proven, and the reply by Douglas Jeep full of lies as discussed in detail above.

DO NOT GO TO DOUGLAS JEEP!!!!

Douglas Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram Response • May 24, 2018

Mr., we stand by our initial statement, that we do not and did not produce any "synthetic particles," neither does the roof from the business next door, and that no other vehicles were affected. The detail invoice you provided, which was a complete inside and outside detail, not just exterior, stated "Additional clay bar removal of brake dust/industrial fallout specs on vehicle." Such items, if they were in the paint of your car, did not originate here. After speaking with you and offering you, as a matter of courtesy, $300 for the detail invoice that you emailed, you then came back and upped your demand to the $900.00 that you had previously stated to Drake. You have since received and cashed our check for $300.00. It is clear that we agree on one thing, that you should not come back. Good luck in your future endeavors.

To whom it may concern,

I stand by all of my previous comments, as they have not been disproven or shown to be inaccurate in any manner. Drake (service salesman) blamed the synthetic particles on the roof next door; that theory was not made up out of thin air. A complete detail needed to be done as it was not safe to have the synthetic particles sitting on the car, or chance the fact of having those particles sucked in my the air vents as damaged the interior of a $130k+ Dodge Viper. Also, pictures were taken of the cars surrounding me, and it was documented that Drake and Don did in-fact notice the same synthetic particles on those vehicles, and when this was brought toTravis' attention, he said that there was nothing that could be done about the particles covering the vehicles, due to the size of the lot.
Furthermore, per my conversation with Douglas Jeep owner, Greg D., he repeatedly mentioned how a car wash needed to be installed (and had potential future plans to do so), and commented on how the small size of the Douglas Jeep dealership lot caused issues; albeit exactly what happened in my case.

I cashed your check for $300, as Greg D. refused any higher amount, and legal action would be me would be time and cost prohibitive.

Attention Past, Present and Future Douglas Jeep Overnight Service Customers: Be very cautious of the condition of your car pre and post service from Douglas Jeep. As was noted in my previous comments,

DO NOT GO TO DOUGLAS JEEP.

WE purchased a Jeep on 12/29/2017 and we have not received a copy of all the documents we signed at the time of the purchase, including warrenties
We bought a car from Douglas Jeep on 12/29/2017 and signed many documents but as of yet we have not received the documents we signed at the time of the purchase, we were told that the all purchase contract paperwork, bill of sale, the three month warrenty, car fax and car history, will be ready the next business work day, since it was a holiday, we assume it would Monday two days from the day puchased the car, at the time of the purchase Douglaas jeep colected from us the sale price and the sales taxes, we went to back and got them a certified check for the total amount, after we brough the check we were told that since we live in Indiana we need pay sale taxes in indiana and not in Florida , so they will make us a check payable to us for the sales tax which was about 480 Dollar, we never saw that check us of yet, over the week we discovered and loud noise and vibration coming from the engine and call they to see if they were aware of these issues and did not disclouse it at the time of the sale, they denied any knowlegede, we took the car it a local mechanic and he confirm the loud noise and vabrations were coming the tranmission, we confornted "Paul" the manager at Douglas Jeep with this fact and since the day we purchased the jeep we called over five time and every times asking them about the 480 Check and slaes paperwork they have a different excuse: the owner is not here " this is big dealership", it is was the Christmas holiday and we are back up, the owner is sick this week, ..ect.
We felt we were cheated by the dealer and left the car at the dealership to find out what the noise and vibration problem was, after they two days they called us and said they problem is in the cataliic coverter and they are willing to go half and ha;f on the repair which was about 400 Dollars, we agreed and also we asked about the paper to register the car at the BMV in indiana and 480 Check they said it was sent in the mail we should get it any time, a week later after the atalytic converter was repaired we had my father in law pick up the car from the dealer , they would not allow to drive/test the car before pay the balance of $340 ,so they went ahead the deducted the 340 from the sales taxes check and gave him a check for 140. We never agreeed to that, I was going to pay them by a credit card, even theought he said the check was mailed it appreas they still hold on to my check for weeks against my will, they only sent us a title for the car without all of the other apaper work we signed at the timeof the purchase, we signed over 12 documents and we only got 1, I want a copy of everything I signed asap, including the warrenty, car fax report, car dealship history, and many other paperwork and I can't remember.

Desired Outcome

The only First route that I would like to take is have Douglas jeep take the car back give me my money back. To say he least, their suspicious behavior of holding to my 480 Dollar sales tax check for three weeks and every time we ask for it and the signed documents, they claimed it sent in the mail or waiting on the owner to sign or the owner is sick the week...etc., and keep on delaying send me my money leads me to believe there is more problems in that Jeep than they are disclosing, and on top of it not letting my father in law take the truck before paying the repair ... just way too many things that lead me to believe there is a serious problem in the truck that they are not telling me about it. I NEVER authorized douglas Jeep to deduct money from the sales tax check, I want the full about in one check. Better yet I don't want this Jeep, I would rather have my money back and they can have their jeep back
