We take full responsibility for the damage that was caused to ***'s Silver Oldsmobile Intrigue However, we did not authorize repairs nor payment to [redacted] on the Intrigue We did offer to drive to Grain Valley to get the customers' vehicle to have the repairs done along with renting a car for the customer We offered a $reimbursement for the repairs to the vehicle that were made that we never committed to paying for We have offered the claimant multiple times to settle the issue with AAA third party arbitration or through small claims court

We take full responsibility for the damage that was caused to [redacted]'s Silver Oldsmobile Intrigue.  However, we did not authorize repairs nor payment to [redacted] on the Intrigue.  We did offer to drive to Grain Valley to get the customers' vehicle to have the repairs done along with renting a car for the customer.  We offered a $400 reimbursement for the repairs to the vehicle that were made that we never committed to paying for.  We have offered the claimant multiple times to settle the issue with AAA third party arbitration or through small claims court.

[redacted]'s daughter [redacted] brought her vehicle in for an oil change a tire rotation on Saturday 8/6/16.  When pulling the vehicle out of a parking spot and into the bay, our general service employee backed the vehicle into another vehicle causing damage to the customer's vehicle.  At this...

point we did the service, [redacted] - our service writer - informed the customer of what happened and called for authorization for a rental vehicle should the customer need it.  I told [redacted] to inform the customer that we take full responsibility, apologize for the inconvenience and the damages done, and that we would take care of the repairs and that we had relationships with multiple body shops in the Lee's Summit area to have this taken care of.On Tuesday [redacted] reached out to me about repairs to her vehicle.  She said she found a shop and had a quote.  She brought the quote in Tuesday afternoon for me to review, asked if it was good to have done, and I told her that we would take care of her but that I needed to speak with the body shop.  The quote was for $1437.46 and $60 rental.  After [redacted] left, I called the body shop that had provided the hand written quote and got the voicemail to the shop.  [redacted] also called and received the voicemail.  We could not find the body shop on Google and found that the owner had the same last name as [redacted] and something seemed a bit odd to us.  We did learn, though, that [redacted]'s husband does body work.  After discovering this information I called [redacted] and told her that I would have a decision for her that evening regarding the vehicle and asked for her to call me back.  The following day [redacted] called back and I told her that we could only authorize $400 in repairs as that is what it would cost for us to fix the vehicle.  I offered to drive to Grain Valley where the vehicle was and drive it back to our shop to have the repairs performed.  [redacted] informed me that she wanted the shop it was at to do the work and that the repairs had already been started.  I told her that unfortunately we didn't authorize the funding of the stated repairs and could only authorize the repairs up to $400.The following Saturday [redacted] drove the vehicle up to the shop to show that repairs had been done to the vehicle.  I was not at the shop that day so I called [redacted] to discuss further Monday to see if we could come to some sort of agreement.  [redacted] said that he could take $1350 even for the damages done to the vehicle.  I told [redacted] that unfortunately we are too far apart for a mutually beneficial outcome and that while we regret this accident happening we accepted full responsibility to make the repairs in house with quality parts at a cost of $400 to us plus our labor.  I informed [redacted] that his choice to do the repairs at retail and then ask us for reimbursement is not reasonable.  I then suggested arbitration to resolve.
