On March 18th 2016, Douglas Tree Service cut down a large dead maple tree in our back yardThey originally were scheduled to do the job the Tuesday before, then rescheduled to Thursday two days later I had taken off work in order to be there to observe their work However, they rescheduled Thursday morning to Friday and I could not take off work that day I had wanted to be there to make sure they were doing what I wanted them to do(Cut down tree, grind stump and adjacent stump from another tree, leave fire wood)
They finished the job Saturday, and I paid them in full The following Monday a friend came over to cut up the remaining wood and haul it away He told me that he had never seen a yard look so bad after a tree was cut down We are new home owners and I have never experienced what it should look like after a tree is cut down He started pointing out things and I realized how poorly the job was done

Douglas Tree had a great sounding website and voicemail and seemed to be the perfect small business to help, instead of taking it to a larger corporationI like helping my own city out so I decided to contact them to trim up our trees in our backyardThey were friendly, and I had an estimator come out within a few days
He came out and gave us a great price and we accepted the offer and made an appointmentIt was made for a friday morning at so I had taken the day off, as did my roomate, to make sure that the house was ready and they could easily get to our backyard
I checked out the reviews and some were good, but mostly were bad for either shoddy work or just not showing upI figured that the estimator was very nice and I would give them a chanceWhat a bad decision
came around and no one showedI called them to see if they had been running lateThe secretary told me that they should've been there and she would call me backI waited a few hours and got no cal
