Doug's Affordable Towing

We got called on a Saturday to do a tow on a broken down car. My driver showed up and met with a young man whose car was blocking some mailboxes at an apartment complex. He had keys to the car and my driver loaded the vehicle. At destination the young man paid my driver cash and was given receipts....

A normal everyday tow. 5 days later a lady called and asked to speak with a manager. Come to find out, this driver was actually an unlicensed 15 year old that had taken his mothers car for a joyride while she was out of town. She got upset with us for towing for an under aged driver that did not own said car. We had no way of knowing. She feels we should ID all people asking for a tow. That simply is just not how towing works. A key to a vehicle proves authorized custody of a vehicle, that is what keys are for. We did not know he was 15. Even if we did, and we didn't tow the vehicle, it would have been impounded in less then an hour for blocking mailboxes at the apartment. If we had called police, car would have been impounded and the young man cited. She should be happy her son called us and got him and the car home safely. I understand that she is mad. And she should be. She would not speak to me with any reasoning and was firmly set on the fact that we did something wrong. She yelled that she was, "going to blow us up on Facebook and complain to the Revdex.com about us" and hung up. Upon trying to recontact her, she simply launched us to voicemail twice. She is mad, and retaliating at us for her sons wrongdoing. She should be happy we got him and her car home safely. She should hide said keys when out of town with a 15 year old left home. If we had done what she is asking, and we left him there without towing him, then there would be a real reason to complain ! I am sorry that this happened to her, but happy that we supplied a quality towing service to her son at a reasonable price.
