Doug's Buggs N Bunnies Reviews (3)

I'd like to start this review by saying that I'm a 21 year old college student and never write reviews for things, let alone file official complaints with the Revdex.com.
Doug's Buggs and Bunnies is a terrible place to bring your Volkswagen. I was having trouble passing emissions with my bug so I took it to them to get it tuned correctly. Though it was quickly done, they charged me $180 to tune the carburetor with new jets and adjust the valves, very basic work. $90 an hour for labor they claimed, with one hour to "diagnose the problem" and another to fix it. This is extremely overpriced but my experience only got worse.
When I brought the car in for help to pass emissions I made very clear that the engine bay key was damaged and to be careful. They broke that key and then charged me for the replacement. $10, which is not a huge deal but I wasn't the one who broke it. It’s the principle of the thing really. When I try to use the key to lock the engine up, it's cut improperly and doesn't work well. I also notice that the horn button is missing, and nowhere to be found. Well I didn't realize this until I got the car home. So I call them and they said they'll look around the shop and call me.
About 4-5 days go by and no contact was made with me so I drive back down there. I asked him if they found it and he claimed that it was "just lying there on the passenger floor so it was left there". I can only ask myself why I would pop it off and leave it there and why they didn’t mention that over the phone days ago; makes no sense. So they said they'll get continue looking in the shop and look online for one. I'm frustrated at this point but say that's fine as long as they'll replace it for free and they agree to. I leave and wait for a call for a few days.
No contact AGAIN so I drive there for the second time. I ask them what’s being done to fix the problem and they immediately get fed up and yell at me in their own store trying to intimidate me. They stomp into the back of the store and pull out an entirely new lock for it and a horn button. After calling me a liar they shove the parts in my face and tell me to "go eat a [redacted] and never come back". I tell them I wasn't planning on it and left.

I took my daily driver bus is to get checked out. They did an inspection and found nothing major wrong. They recommended fixing bushings and adding a breather box so oil doesn't spray out (when going on my Cali trip I mentioned)

I took the advice but when I picked up my bus I could not shift into first or second gear (because the new shifter had a trigger to pull in to go into reverse) except they put it in wrong and it engaged after leaving 2nd.

Also my bus which I drove every day immediately sprayed out oil all over the engine. I immediately Took it back in and they ran some tests and told me I needed a new dipstick seal, But it seemed tight and would be ok with the new dipstick seal. I didn't get 5 miles before my engine bellowed out smoke and the back of my bus was covered in oil. I pulled over and it didn't start. I waited for an hr got it started and emailed Mike one of the employees on fb (he added me so he can show me the bus bras his wife makes). He replied back and was nice about it and told me "they would fix their mistake"

I took it back it they wanted to charge me for all 3 of my visits and charge me again for messing up my engine.

This is insanity, the bus's I pectin didn't find an oil leak and the bus never had an issue before. It left the shop it far worse condition then it came. Then when talking to Fish the owner he said I can't guarantee your bus is going to run forever when it leaves my shop (I MADE IT 5 MILES!!) he also told me I was a FB stalker because I'm hitting up his employees and he won't fix it (I couldn't make this up if I wanted to) The owner extremely rude and immature wouldn't even listen to anything or have a civil conversation and this shop shouldn't be trusted. I will be posting pictures soon of the damage done and all of my receipts they charged me for from start saying my bus was in good condition and the conversation I had with Mike the employee minutes after I left
