We understand the frustrationWe did do this project in regard to the Zoysia and Fescue sod for the clients. All the grass was green and healthy when we installed the sod. There were no signs of army worms. The problem with the fescue was that we were supposed to transplant
existing sod from there yard. The sod from there yard did not work out so we purchased extra fescue sod and installed it for no additional charge. This was not part of the estimate to purchase and install the other sod but we did it so the clients would receive what we thought would be a good installation with no additional charges. There were not signs of army worms when all sod was installed. When we were done with the job we suggested that the client treat the turf to get best results and let them know that we were not responsible for maintenance of the turf after installation but they were advised to do so and we gave them the name of the people we use to treat our clients turf. After the clients let us know what was happening we called the person to come out and treat there turf. We called our supplier to make sure that no other sod had army worms in it. Our supplier advised us that there had not been any cases. The army worms occur in nature and are in the ground. This is something that has been taking over yards this season and needs to be treated by a fertilization company as soon as it is seen

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.

Did you ever feel like you've been royally had by a non-ethical, amoral vendor Well we haveThe proposal clearly states a $estimate for sod removal and replanting DTW struggled wth our sod, but didn't have the skill or know how to make it work Rather than "pro bono" , I think we more than covered the cost of the "new" sodAnd he said for another $he would come over, remove the old sod and throw it into the woods
The estimate says to mulch the remainder of beds in front at no charge When nearing the end of his work, I asked why the front beds hadn't been mulched, I was told it wasn't included in the estimate and I believed him, paid an additional $to get the front bed mulched
The army worms infected the entire zoysia sod Not just spots here and there. They were in the sod to begin with or in the top soil spread before the sod was installed, I'm sure Of course*** *** would deny any cases of army worms in any of their sodA $ding to have it treatedOn top of that, another ding because he miscalculated the amount of zoysia he needed to buy
And lastly, he told me he had to modify zone two of the irrigation system in order for it to work but refuses to come over and show me how to operate it Now I need to get someone to either show me or correct what *** said was a nicked control wire by the stump grinder*** is smooth, glib and reprehensible We feel totally violated by this experience

I am sorry the clients feels this way but honestly we take pride in our work and stand by it.  This is why we stressed the importance of treating the turf from the beginning.  According to the estimate regarding the fescue it originally states it was for topsoil, sod cutter to cut out old sod and relay and to re grade.  When this didn't work because the sod was to brittle and not in good shape we bought the new sod and took out old sod and relayed the new sod which was green when installed.  The purchase of the new sod was not included in the original estimate.  The army worms were not caught in time on this part of the turf and did not exist before we installed it.  As for the Zoysia when we were out re-adjusting the irrigation system we noticed that there were army worms and we called for this to be treated the next day.   We told the client that it needed to be treated so they wouldn't loose there grass.  The Zoysia was saved as a result.  Looking back over the estimate I do not see anywhere that it was stated to mulch the front.  We would never take advantage of a client.  There are a lot of additional items that we provided for the client with out charge.  We pressure washed driveway free of charge, purchased and relayed sod, came out to the property three times to adjust irrigation system and spoke over the phone one time to walk them threw it.  Also installed edging at no cost and removed stumps at no charge and removed hardscape left behind by another contractor.  I believe we have been more than fair.
