ambulance without a licensed attendant. On the initial call we had two licensed personnel. One was licensed at the State level as a EMT-Basic and the other provider licensed as an Advanced-EMT. Answer 2 : The advanced EMT requested Advanced Life Support en route to Calais Regional Hospital. They stopped for a Paramedic intercept en route to get the patient more advanced and technical care. Throughout the call there was a legal attendant on the truck. Answer 3 : A female attendant was not requested for the transfer. The transfer orders required a Paramedic inter-facility transport. The para-medic that was staffed that evening was a male. If we're notified earlier that the patient requested a woman for the transfer we could have tried to accommodate her requests. She could have elected to choose another transporting service. Or we could have made some calls to bring in a Female para-medic that was not on duty. Answer 4: When we received the initial hand written complaint letter we spoke to the Paramedic attendant that was on the transfer with [redacted]. The medic is a veteran para-medic with many years of active service and experience. The employee was brought into the office and spoken to directly about this complaint. The employee was informed to be more attentive and compassionate. The employee had the letter put into his personnel file for our records to prevent this from happening in the future. We try to be as equitable as possible. Desired Settlement: With the evidence presented we're apologetic that [redacted] feels this way. We understand her concerns and frustrations. After we investigated the incident we have concluded that many of these allegations are unfounded. We're not in a position to offer a settlement.
