Review: On September 27, 2014, my sister and I visited this shop for the first time. While there, I noticed 2 large paintings of wooded scenes wherein the bark of the trees had the texture of real bark. As we were leaving, we engaged in a conversation with the Owner/General Manager James A. Russell. I told him that I could not pay the $99 price at that time for the one I liked the most, and he stated that I could place it on layaway -- as long as it was paid in full by November. I wrote him a check for $38.09 and he removed the painting off the sales floor. I mailed him a second check on October 29, 2014 for $35, but was late in sending the final payment as I was trying to schedule a convenient time to drive from the Richmond Area to the shop in [redacted]. I was delayed in getting the final payment to him, but did so over the phone as Mr. [redacted] stated that he had [redacted]. I made the final payment via [redacted] with a credit card ONLY because Mr. [redacted] agreed to ship the painting to me since the delay in payment was due to my inability to visit his shop, which is over an hour's drive. This item has been paid in full since December, yet Mr. [redacted] has not sent it to me. Initially, he blamed it on an electrical fire at the business, losing my contact info, etc. For the past month, however, he has simply not answered my calls on any of his phone numbers, or responded to my text messages or e-mails.Desired Settlement: There must be something going on with the picture, which Mr. [redacted] told me was completed by a local artist. At this point, I want to my painting sent to me immediately or the full amount paid reimbursed immediately. Otherwise he will face litigation.
