This car dealership is absolutely horrendousLast August (2015) I was at the dealership shopping for a new carI test drove a Ford EdgeWhile I liked the car, when I test drove the door ajar light was on and would not turn off (there were no doors open)The salesman told me "we will fix the sensor before you come to pick up your car if you decide to purchase it" to which I agreedFast Forward, I receive the car Sept 1, all is fineNot even a month later the sensor is coming back onSo I call them and tell them, they tell me to bring the car in and they will fix itBring the car in, they fix itSeveral months later, the sensor is coming back on againNot only does the sensor come on, but if I am getting out of my car and trying to lock my car to go someplace and the sensor decides it wants to come on, the interior lights won't go off as if my car door is openSo yet again I call the dealership to bring the car back to get it fixed for the 3rd time!I call in the beginning of June and speak with the service manager, make an appointment for weeks out to bring the car in, letting them know that I will drop it off as early as they need BUT it must be done by as I need to go back to work, they don't do courtesy cars and this is now the 3rd time its supposed to be fixed and I can't keep taking off of work for itBring the car in, nobody knows anything about me having an appointmentI tell them go get your supervisor, that's who I dealt withHe kept me waiting for well over minutes before he finally came to speak with me about the issueHe then tried to tell me I would have to pay a $diagnostic fee for them to find the issueWhich I told him was NOT happening, etc etcAround and around we go, finally they bring my car back to work on itI come back at like I said to get my car because I need to go back to workwhile "fixing my car" they broke something else, so now they need to keep my car overnightSo they are going to send me in one of their cars so that I can go back to work, which now AGAIN I need to take a half a day to be able to pick my car up when they finally fix it the next dayFast forward now we are in September, I have now had this car for a year and days to be exactI wake up this morning to a completely dead carNo lights turning on, no turning over, no clicking DEAD! While I am aware that this is a that I purchased so it could just be a dead batteryI find this to be incredible *** and beyond frustratingDown's Ford is an awful dealership with even worse customer serviceI will never buy from them nor will I ever send someone thereMind you this is after me giving them good reviews when buying the car because I really liked the sales person and sales manager (who surprisingly no longer work there)

We leased a vehicle from Downs 9 months prior to Hurricane Sandy. When Sandy hit, we lost our home and thus caused us to relocate. During that relocation we needed to transport our child back and forth to her original school district every day. This happened for a year and a half. We contacted Downs Ford on more then three separate occasions to explain our situation. They assured us, knowing we would go over the mileage, that we didn't have anything to worry about since we had a [redacted] number. Keep the vehicle and bring it back to us at the end of the lease. After being over by 20,000 miles, and returning the vehicle, downs Ford told us that we would have to pay the overages. When asked about why they lied to us over the course of two years, they kept telling us we should have known better and a contracts a contract. Downs Fords sales management team, we believe, purposely lead us along thinking it would be taken care of and then hope that we would run up the mileage. Shame on us for not knowing, however, after speaking with former employees and other dealerships, we where informed that Downs Ford always seems to have an angle like the one they put us through. We found another Dealership who took care of us and while Downs Ford put us through substantial financial difficulties we are the wiser. Please be careful of this dealership.

Review: Brought Ranger truck in for an oil change. Picked up truck and paid for oil change. On the way home engine light came on. Called Downs and they told me to bring the truck in to them which I did the same day. Received a phone call I needed new heads. Gave them the OK to do this work. However, I then received a phone call informing me that after they completed the work on the heads, they were unable to start my truck. They asked if I had another type of key, etc. I assured them time and time again that I never had trouble starting my truck.

Downs Ford has had my truck for 8 weeks now and has not been able to undo whatever they did to my truck. It is sitting in their parking lot.

They offer me no hope.

The truck is a Ford Ranger 2006 with 58,000 miles.

ALL service work on this truck has been done at Downs Ford.

I had no complaints regarding my truck...only needed an oil change. Period.Desired Settlement: If they cannot repair what they broke, and therefore the truck is not useable, I would like a replacement. I need the truck.

Business

Response:

We acknowledge Mr. [redacted]'s ranger has been at our facility for a long time.
