Review: On Aug 29, I used the Downtown Car & Limousine Service to get from Newark airport to Hoboken, and I was extremely disappointed with the service and upset
I booked a car service, because I specifically wanted and requested an infant car seat, because we were travelling with a baby and our priority is to keep him safe
The car arrived and the car seat was not installed, but rather just thrown on the back seat, and the driver did not know how to install itTherefore my husband and I went to install it, however, when we saw the car seat we were horrifiedThe car seat was completely broken down, very old, parts of it were missing, there was a hole in it, the straps were impossible to adjustI do not have a doubt that that the car seat is not according to NHTSA standards and is completely unsafe
I called the company and someone named “[redacted]” with a thick Indian accent asked me to pass the phone to the driver and on my phone was explaining how to install the car seatSince, I saw that it was not about the installation, but rather that the seat is unsafe and unusable, I requested to speak with the manager and was told by “[redacted]” that he is the manager and that there is no one else I can speak to besides him, and that no one will help meI requested a different car seat to be sent, he said that they do not have any and had a very rude demeanorHe said that the only thing he can do is not to charge me for the car seatHowever, he demanded that we pay cash and give a tip to the driver three timesHe said that in a very rude and demanding manner
We put the baby in the car seat, and tried to strap him in, but were able to close only one strap, which was digging into my baby skin, and the other one was not possible to closeThe car seat was completely unsecured and moved around on the seat
When we got to Hoboken, the driver could not find the correct address, but demanded to get paidThe driver’s attitude was also very unpleasant and rude.Desired Settlement: I would like an apology letter and a refund

Review: This car service company was hired to pick up guests for an event from multiple locations. One of the drivers hired by this company for our service was pulled over by the police in NYC for using his cell phone (holding it) while driving. As part of the investigation, the police discovered that this driver's drivers license had been revoked. We wish to report the negligence of this company in not maintaining current data on their drivers with respect to having appropriate driver's licenses. This seems like the most basic and necessary requirements and fundamental standards that any car service company should be able to guarantee to its clients. As a result of this incident, three of our guests who were being picked up by this driver (he was going to make a second stop for two more guests) had to wait for more than an hour for a new driver to pick them up for their destination. My business is public relations and this was an unprecedented and extremely negative public relations situation for us and our client.Desired Settlement: The company refuses to provide us with refund/credit of $104 for this incident. They claim that since another driver was sent, we should pay for this improper and inferior service. I disagree and feel that their negligence in so basic a need -- e.g., all drivers are in good standing with drivers license -- warrants a refund, at the least.

Review: I hired this car service for transport from Newark airport to my home in [redacted] on 2/28/15. There were multiple issues. The primary one is that the driver insisted on bring our bags in and then drive off with our bags instead. When I spoke with the dispatch they insisted they would not return my bags unless I gave them $200! I paid my full bill (actually more then was initially agreed upon) and a tip. But, they are now holding my luggage hostage for an additional $200. In addition, they refuse to obey traffic laws. The Driver kept typing on his phone while driving 80 mph down the turnpike! I was traveling with my 2 small children, so this was very upsetting. At my house, the driver got out and left the car in neutral. The car started rolling away with me and my 2 children in the back. I called the driver and he said it was "fine" until he finally saw the car start to roll off! Then the driver told me he would unload the bags. It was 4 am so I got the kids up to bed. The driver pulled off with 2 bags still in the car. I called the next morning and was told by a very rude lady, "no, we don't have anything!" She didn't even pause, just immediately blew me off. The next weekday morning, I called again (I really need my things obviously.) I spoke with 3 separate men, all very rude. I was told that I could only get the things they had taken from me if I paid them $200 to return it! After going back and forth, the upshot was they admit they took my bags, they admit they have my bags, they refuse to bring my bags back without being paid $200. The guy ended with saying he doesn't care who I tell about their poor service. I wish the police would care enough it make this a criminal thing, but for $200, I'm sure the small time scam stays just under the radar!Desired Settlement: I am going to drive 2 hours each way to Jersey City and try to insist they return my items. If they return what they have taken, then I would like to be recompensed for time, fuel and travel - 4 hours. I am an emergency service provider and will have to miss 4 hours of work to try to get back my taken items. As for the distracted driving with children in the car, someone just needs to try to address it. It is a dangerous situation. They have another address - [redacted]
