Review: I am very disappointed with Downtown Erie Hotel. After check in, we went to the room, only to find the air conditioner was not working correctly and the room phone was not working either. Went to the front desk, explained the situation, he said the phones were down. The clients in the room next to us, their phone worked fine.They did not use their cell phones like suggested by the attendant. Another attendant did come to the room, turned the a/c on and off it worked for a few minutes. The phone, he said was working, was not. I called Expedia,they called the front desk, they had no problem connecting and talking to the front desk attendant. If there had been an emergency...no phone!! After being told there were no rooms left, the a/c and phone not working, went back down and ask for a refund. I wanted to leave!!! No room left? They were all take?? For a place with no available rooms left, I was assigned room 420. This room was horrible!!! I have pictures if you like to see them... chest/pubic hair in the tub!!! the sheets looked used no safety lock on the doorpaint chipping off the ceiling. Needless to say, I did not get much sleep!!! Thank God I had blankets in my car!I would like a refund please. I ask for a refund again the morning of the 15th before we left. They didn't hesitate to charge my card!![redacted] Arrival date was June 14, 2014Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $113.00 which was charged to my card.

Be aware and stay away from this hotel. The entire place smells very bad and it is very dirty throughout. The pool was closed, when they said it was open. The air conditioner did not work properly. The smoke detector went off every hour multiple times that night. The bathroom was dirty. We all got bites on our legs from staying there, maybe bed bugs and would not be surprised. The gentleman at the desk in the morning could not have been less caring. He said I should of called maintenance to fix my issues. Like I really wanted a stranger in my room at 3:00am. The area where the hotel is is not a nice area, filled with possible-homeless people and groups of kids hanging on the corner. It was not a safe neighborhood.

I requested a refund for the despicable accommodations.

Review: My family and I stayed at this hotel on 6/9/15-6/11/15 and several things were wrong ... No battery in the smoke alarm, either blood or feces on bathroom wall , food still in refrigerator , mold in coffee pot, elevator door doesn't close the whole way, plus numerous things that was advertised not available.Desired Settlement: It would be nice if some of my money would be refunded, but mostly I think this are serious matters and they need to be fixed. Thank You

Review: I was severely misled by advertising of this hotel on their website. I needed a hotel room in Erie for Saturday 2/28/15 and when I went to check in to the room, it was completely disgusting. The entire building was falling apart and even the door that requires a key card opened without me having to use the key. I felt unsafe from the moment waking into this hotel and I was with my girlfriend, and was severely concerned for her safety as well. After walking into the room, it wreaked of a foul odor consisting of old cigarettes and was giving my girlfriend a headache after being in there for less than 10 minutes. We decided at that point to leave the hotel and to get a refund. When we spoke to the front desk person (he told us his name was [redacted]) and said he could not give us a refund. I asked to speak with a manager of the facility and he gave me a business card with a phone number that only rang to the front desk of the hotel. I was unable to speak with a manager to get a refund and was told I needed to wait until Monday march 2. I feel this is completely unacceptable business practices as [redacted] was able to charges credit card just earlier in the day. I would like a full refund from this hotel for having filthy facilities and an unsafe environment.Desired Settlement: Full refund for charged room.
