I have moved across the country with many of my current belongings several times and, only months ago, with all of them from Naples to Fort Lauderdale, and so I can speak from experience that Downtown Moving and Storage, earns a failing grade on all criteria on which one would rate a moving companyUntil being handled by Downtown Moving and Storage, these items were undamaged
First, the movers arrived roughly minutes late and with inadequate suppliesThere was no discernible supervision and employees were frequently lounging around outside eating or listening to musicThis would not have bothered me in the least if it did not result in a move which took greater than hours (and would have taken longer if my wife and I had not begun actively moving items and encouraging employees to do likewise)After all of this, Downtown Moving and Storage was still so ill prepared that we had to fill three cars on the day of the move and are still returning for additional runs for remaining items
One of Downtown Moving and Storage's biggest problems is lack of careNever have I seen such high impact on furniture, personal belongings and, most of all, propertyA few dings and scratches here and there are one thing but chunks taken out of drywall and long, deep gauges in hardwood floors (ruining previously pristine flooring) are anotherI moved with all of my current belongings from a distance roughly times greater than moved by Downtown Moving and Storage only months ago and did not encounter any problems
When I contacted *** *** on June 30th, with pictures of the damages, via email, he did not respond at allI then contacted him on July 2nd, with additional pictures, and informed him that, I had instructed my credit card company to hold the charges until the dispute was resolved, to which he responded (verbatim):
"Thanks for making such a quick decision before I even had time to come up with a fair settlementAt this point we have provided and completed a service to you for an agreed priceMinor wear and tear on a property can potentially happen on all movesAt this point there is nothing to speak aboutYou haven't even called our office since the move has taken placeI will be speaking with my collector who will be speaking with you from here on outDo not try to contact us at this pointMy collectors will be dealing with you from here on out"Regards" ***"
There was no other email correspondence about the issue other than the aforementioned and the above is the one and only email received from *** ***I have never in my life encountered a less professional and more childish response from a customer service providerBTW: the use of Thanks and the quotes around "Regards" are ***'s puerile venture into the domain of sarcasm
In summary, if you don't want your move handled by under-trained, ill-equipped and unsupervised movers (who, incidentally, could not have been nicer people) managed by a company with the lowest level of professionalism that I have encountered in my five decades of life, then DO NOT use Downtown Moving and Storage

Love these guys! I've used them a number of times and they're greatEach move, they show up on time, work quickly and carefully, are courteous, and despite working hard and sweating still manage to smell good this is important because no one wants dirty, stinky movers touching their easy chairs! I always recommend Downtown Moving And Storage

These guys were great. I was moved out of my old place and into the new place in no time. Nothing was damaged or lost and the final price came in well below the initial estimate. The movers were personable and professional and very considerate of our property. Highly recommended.

They are accommodating, extremely friendly, patient and kind. They moved my stuff quickly-- and they were more than helpful when I needed access to it.

Downtown Moving And Storage did an awesome job with our move. They were fantastic. They showed up right on time, worked super efficiently and were fast and careful. Best moving experience I've ever had after a few nightmares in previous moves. Highly recommend!
