Doyle Brick Paving Reviews (2)

in 2007, years ago, we installed pavers for a builder on a new construction projectOn new construction the original ground is disturbed during the process, and backfill materials are spread all over the top of the original gradeThis makes areas of the yard potentially unstableAlso, anything
built in the over dig areas are especially prone to settlingWe try to convince the builders not to have us build in these areas for that reason, but many times, as in the case of Mrs*** home, they have us do it anywayTHE WORK WAS CONTRACTED WITH THE BUILDER, not mrs***I don't know Mrs***, and do not feel obligated to fix her issues for free or at a reduced cost after YEARSThe builder gives the homeowner a one year warranty when they build the home, and we give the builder the sameWe give our customers a year warranty on our work, but specifically note that we can not be responsible for any work in the over dig areas, as they are prone to settlingThis work was done YEARS ago, and is far from being covered by anyone's warranty, not to mention it was contracted with the builder, not the homeownerWe have been in business for years, and have maintained a AAA rating with the Revdex.comWe do stand behind our work, to a reasonable amount of time

I am rejecting this response because:  Doyle did not address any of our issues.  He simply claims that they did the work for our General Contractor, who we hired to build our custom home.  And since he did the work for the GC, he is not liable to fix these issues under any warranty that was provided to the contractor but has since expired.  But he doesn't address the shoddy work that they did and won't address.  The facts remain that we have an extremely rippled driveway and many loose paver step stones that are NOT in overdig areas so he CANNOT claim the overdig area is the source of the problems.  He also doesn't address the fact that his own representative told us that they used an INFERIOR product at the time to lay our driveway and would be the cause of the ripples.  Warranty or not, when you use an inferior product, your workmanship is shoddy to begin with.  That is what our situation is.  Regardless of whether Doyle claims these are issues due to overdig, Doyle also doesn't address the fact that all we ever asked for was a QUOTE to fix it.  One of the main reasons for this complaint is this business refuses to answer and provide a QUOTE!  We did not ask him to fix anything for free at any time.  We need a QUOTE from the company that installed our pavers to fix the issues.  To date, they have not done so and I have written text from Doyle's sales representative telling me that Doyle, the owner himself, instructed his sales rep not to respond to me.  I also have written text from Doyle's representative stating, "Loose caps are something that can happen after a number of years and we routinely repair those at a minimal cost even well beyond the expiration of our warranty".  Why won't they fix our loose pavers for a minimal cost then?  Because Doyle doesn't stand behind his work.  Why can't he provide a quote to fix the front stoop that is in the overdig area?  Respond!  I called for weeks just trying to get a quote from them to fix our issues and they refused to answer.  A business cannot state they stand behind their work and are responsive to a customer if they do not respond at all.  Again, to date, Doyle and his representative have purposely avoided us and refused to provide a quote to fix any issues.  Even in his response to this claim, he once again just says, it's not our problem.  Nothing about the fact that they just don't want to provide a quote to fix anything.  What respectable business does work and then when there are issues, refuses to provide a quote to fix them?  That is Doyle Brick Paving Co. and they should not be allowed to be in business.
Sincerely,
