Review: We had them come out for a price for a Demoltion onthe garage. He said he could do the demolition for $6,000 this was in the evening. We paid them $3,000 half to start the job. They started the job on September 22,2013.They start the job and came to work every other day. Did not work a full week at all, to get it done.On November 7, 2013 We paid them in full with a check. We had to pay for some of the hauling witch was $300 dollars extra.Thay still did not finish the cleaning up the left over from the demolition. He said he will send someone out to finish the clean up, never came back. We had a 10 percent off any job card they gave us did not honor that discount.Desired Settlement: They need to finish the job we paid for. I do not think we will hire them for another job !

Response:

Dear Revdex.com,

This letter is in response to accusations made by a previous customer in regards to a garage dismantling project. Please take a moment to review the following facts in comparison to what the customer stated and also failed to mention.

(a) There is a claim the 10% discount offered in an advertisement was not granted. The contract clearly shows $7,000 discounted down to $6,000 giving a $1,000 deduction totaling (14.25%) off the original price which exceeds the 10% discount advertised on our flyer.

(b) Working on this particular project daily was never agreed upon. The contract clearly states the "anticipated completion date" is two weeks from start date "weather permitting" and will begin within one week of receiving initial payment plus demo permit. This two week period gives flexibility to meet other deadlines a company may have with other customers and in no way was this individual led to believe work would be done on their property daily. The demo permit was granted 9/26/13 which guaranteed a start date by 10/3/13 with anticipated completion by 10/17/13. This indicates we did not start on 9/22/13 as stated by the customer. The project was also postponed due to rain on two different occasions.

(c) Customer states they "had to pay" for extra hauling this is not true. Another area of debris

approximately 8x24 feet by 12 inches high containing dead animals was discovered underneath one of the floors after a mid-sized dumpster had already been used to haul away debris and miscellaneous items lying on top of the surface. Due to this large area of debris being discovered the customer agreed to contribute $300 to assist with disposal fees and company costs to travel out and revisit the situation which naturally extended the length of the project.

(d) Customer failed to mention in his complaint the change in original agreement and delaying of final payment for several weeks. Originally, any good cinder blocks remaining were to be kept on the property for others to pick up as needed. This verbal request came directly from the customer himself. Suddenly when the project was completed on 10/28/13 he refused to submit final payment unless or until the cinder blocks were removed. The conversation revolved unpleasantly for approximately 10 minutes, this is when he was made aware that a "free ad" would be placed on [redacted] to get rid of the 400+ cinder blocks and payment would be collected at that time. This option was provided as an attempt to defuse the matter. Prior to this incident customer also commented on how much extra money it might cost to dispose of multiple tons of concrete. "A few hundred bucks no need to waste money."

(e) 11/6/13 a male answered the customer's house phone and confirmed all remaining blocks were gone. 11/7/13 at 5:30 pm upon greeting the customer he began shouting profanity and claimed to have been ripped off. "Hell with your price pi** on that." He demanded an additional 10% off of the original 14.25% and threatened to file a complaint with the Revdex.com, Attorney General and Department of State if he did not receive another 10% off. He was informed that final payment must be made immediately and that no further "Breach of Contract" would be tolerated. More profanity followed coming from the customer while writing out the check for final payment.

Upon leaving the premises customer stated he noticed a small amount of broken up bricks behind a wall where some of the work was done. After looking behind the wall it was assumed that some, but not all" of these broken up bricks may have accidentally landed there at some point but could not be confirmed as to the exact amount due to a mixed pile of debris already existing behind the wall. As a courtesy, the customer was told someone would return in the next few weeks to remove a portion of what he was referring to Just in case any of it may have actually come from the project. Arrangements are in place to fulfill our courtesy offer within the next 7-10 days. Thank you.

I am following up with you regarding a complaint recently filed by Mr. [redacted] of Clinton, PA. As mentioned yesterday when speaking with you, we satisfied our guarantee Saturday 12/21/2013 to remove a pile of bricks and rocks from his property. Mr. Bush requested 4 to 6 recycling buckets worth be hauled way but instead we did a much larger amount filling a pick up truck (photo attached). For the record, there was already miscellaneous debris lying behind the wall and it still remains (photo attached) we had simply extended a courtesy offer to come back in a few weeks to specifically remove broken up bricks that may have fallen behind the wall when tearing down a chimney for the customer after we dismantled his 4 car garage.. I am unsure as to why the complaint was filed and more so why the details given were untrue.
