The Preiss company has charged me around $800 for outrageous damages. They violated a part of the lease concerning distributing deposits back.
The Preiss Company has charged me outrageous fees for damages that were minor. According to North Carolina landlord laws, landlords cannot charge an exorbitant amount for damages. I received a $300 charge to replace 1 bedroom door (which are like $50 at [redacted] I was given a $100 charge to remove a satellite dish that was on the house when I moved in, and I have a picture that proves that there was a satellite dish on the roof of the house 3 months before I moved in actually. Also according to NC law, if landlords withhold your deposit 30 days or more after they move out without sending you an itemized summary of charges for damages, then that voids their right to take any part of the deposit for damages. After around 45 days after moving out, I finally receive my deposit back, only to find out that they took out $800 in damages, and charged me for something a month after I moved out. The staff is very rude and cannot properly run a leasing agency as they forget to mention the charges that they are randomly charging you. I've literally gone broke after moving out and have not been able to pay bills, this should not be okay at all, they are taking my money for no reason and I have all the proof to sue this company right now for treble damages. This company has literally ruined my life and credit score.
