Review: [redacted] was hired to do about $9,125 worth of stone work improvements at our house on June 9, 2013. We came in contact with him through a business card he left in our mailbox. We foolishly did not check his references. On a handshake I paid him $4,500 as an advance on his work. He did show up a couple of times and completed about 20% of the work in an unsatisfactory manner. Despite repeated requests to honour his obligation to do the work three months after initially engaging him we decided to cease our relationship with him and asked that he return $3,000 of the $4,500 advance that I had given him. He agreed but said that he did not have the money. He has paid me a total of $300 if the $3,000 he owes me. I will be initiating legal action against him.Desired Settlement: I would like to get paid my money back
