Dr. Demkiw-Bartel

Hello, I saw Dr. Bartel in August of 2013 for skin discoloration on my right check. Dr. Bartel recommended a series of facial peels and products to apply. That day I had the initial facial peel and purchased $800 worth of product. Within days after the process started I began to develop sore eyes and have issues with my sight.I had an allergic reaction to the chemicals I was putting on my face. Over the period of months, I reached out to Dr. Bartel, left messages with her assistant, returned the product and wrote letters. To date, a year later Dr. Bartel has not returned my inquiries or refunded me for the product that I returned to her clinic.Product_Or_Service: Skin Care ProductsOrder_Number: 29739Account_Number: 29739Desired SettlementI would appreciate a refund for the skin care products I returned to her clinic and gave to her receptionist in December of 2013. I asked to speak directly to Dr. Bartel that day, however was informed she was on a holiday with family. My request to return to call me upon her return was not executed. [redacted]Business Response [redacted] I do remember Mr [redacted] phoning with concerns over an allergic reaction. I asked my staff to ensure he come in for assessment since this is protocol for reviewing any untoward reactions. I also left a message on his phone after a few weeks of not seeing him. In the message I reassured him that the product he was over using needed to be introduced quite slowly as it is a medical grade product meant to be quite efficacious and so he needed to go slow with its use. Then I did not hear back from him.Returns are not allowed due to these items being medical grade products that only physicians can provide, much like pharmacies. In the event of a reaction I must first assess this reaction and then contact the respective company and provide my medical assessment of the situation with them. The return of any money paid for the products is at the discretion of the company that made them. Therefore, I do not accept any products in return at anytime until the company has accepted that I do so.Upon return from my holiday last December 2013 I do not recall knowledge of any returned products, and would have, as I am the only one that handles these types of situations. The staff member from that period of time is no longer at the clinic and so I cannot clarify this aspect of the concern. I regret this unfortunate situation and was truly hopeful that Mr [redacted] could have presented for an appointment so that I could have taken him through the steps of proper medical assessment of the reaction he claims he had and of handling the possible refunding of his purchases, via the company who makes the product. In fact the company he had products from is quite good at returns but through the appropriate steps only. She never once asked me to come back for an appointment. Nor did she ever leave me a message. Her advice was to stop using the product. Please inform dr barrel that the et urn of the product was done in December z2013 and I spoke to several different admin assistants at her clinic. At no time was any of my attempts and messages returned. [redacted]. I spoke to 4 different receptionist as they changed over the year. All of them took messages. Dr. Barrel did not return one of them. Including the receptionist that was there in December 2013 and took all,the product from me. [redacted]
