Dr. Fret's Guitar Hospital

Review: I am a musician. I have a vintage 78 FENDER TELECASTER GUITAR that I have used since new on stage and required re-fretting and neck work. The one man shop, run from his home, goes under the name of Dr. Frets Guitar Hospital and can be found on the web.He charged me 339.00 for the work. When I picked it up on 1-25-13, he would not let me try it out claiming that his wife was there with a migrane headache. I took his word for it that it was repaired.When I arrived home, I inspected it and it would not stay in tune, and the strings were hitting the frets. I call him and he said that the trus rod in the neck had to be adjusted. After dropping it off the second time the same evening, he e mailed me that it was ready to pick up.I picked it up on 1-29. His wife rushed it out to my car and I was rushed out of there by her, stating that another musician tried it and said it was great.Once again, I inspected it at home and it was worse than the first time, the case is full of cat or dog hairs and you can not play any open chords at all, the first three strings are hitting the frets. I have e mailed him and stated that he has till Friday to make things right or I will seek an attorney.This guitar is not replaceable, it's value is over 2000.00. All I want is the correct service that I paid for and for it to be pro-right. At this time I am afraid to send it back due to more damage. Dr. Fret's has earned a mark against him [redacted] as far as I am concerned. All he did was to e mail me a very nasty message stating that he performed a lot of extra work on the guitar and that I should be thank full. WOWDesired Settlement: I would like to get a full refund to apply it towards the proper guitar tech that knows what he is doing. I had to save for months to pay for this service.I would take it to[redacted] IN AKRON OHIO. Dr. Fret talked a smooth sales line and I fell for it. I thought it would be great to support a local business and not have to drive to Akron, but it was a huge mistake on my part.This guitar has been re done three times in Akron and it never had a problem after I received it back.
