To Whom It May Concern, Tax preparation service was provided to Ms*** on 1/22/However, at no point in time was Ms*** ever told she would have her taxes prepared in "the rapid form." The IRS banned any type of "rapid" or "same day refunds" over years agoMs*** was told
to expect her refund within 2-weeksThis is the information that was relayed to all clients due to information provided by the IRS and government agencies warning of the possible delays that taxpayers could face in receiving their refunds Unfortunately, many people do not understand that tax preparers only transmit tax information to the IRS, they do not control when the IRS releases refunds.Tax Preparers are also unaware as to how much of the taxpayer's refund is going to be released by the IRSMany people also fail to realize that the IRS does not paytax preparers their feesTax Preparers receive their fees either directly from the taxpayer OR it is deducted by a 3rd party bank from the refundIf a taxpayer choses to havetheir fees deducted from their refund, the person who prepared their taxes DOES NOT get paid until the taxpayer receives their refund. My office is open Monday thru Saturday from 10:00am-8:00pm, January through AprilThere are multiple phone lines in my officeThere would be no way possible to avoid any one particular clients phone calls during open office hoursTo not answer the phone, would not be beneficial to my business As of the original date of Ms*** complaint, she had not received her federal refund, and therefore she had paid no tax preparation fees paidHowever, Ms*** DID RECEIVEher federal refund on via direct deposit on February 12, Any fee deducted from her refund was in fact owed at that time If there are any other concerns, please let me know. Sincerely, *** N***, Owner

To Whom It May Concern, In response to this complaint by Ms***Ms ***'s taxes were prepared in front of her on the day of her appointmentThey could not be transmitted because she had not brought in all of her required documents to completeher fileHer documents were received the next
day and her taxes were transmitted within a business dayShe was told to expect her refund within 2-weeks, due to possible IRS funding delaysMs*** was seen in my officeon 2/10/and received her refund on 3/4/2015, this is exactly within the week window Appointments are necessary in any businessHowever, during tax season some people feel appointments are not necessaryThey don't realize how a simple minute conversation to ask a question can push all appointments behind. On behalf of myself and my staff, I would like to offer Ms*** an apology for any inconvenience she may have experienced during her initial appointment scheduling timeAs far as the IRS website, there were manyinconsistencies with updates and accuracy this season. If there is anything further, please let me know. Sincerely, *** ** *** Owner

The details of this matter are as follows:Complaint Involves:Refund Or Exchange Issues Customer’s Statement of the Problem:I sat hours for a supposely scheduled appointment on 02/05/*** reviewed my paperwork and completed my tax returnIRS states that refunds are generally issued within days after they receive my tax returnIRS have a website, "Where's My Refund" to utilize to check the status of your refundIt is 02/26/and the website states that they cannot provide any information about my refundI must wait at least hours after I get the acknowledgement e-mail that my tax return was received by the IRSA few weeks prior I called Infinity Tax because the website is not giving me a status regarding the refund and the lady that answered the telephone stated that the website is not current and that they are behind updating the websiteI called IRS and they wouldn't give me any information because it was not days yet but the representative stated that they send an confirmation email that the return have been receivedI went into the office on 02/25/and *** looked me dead in my face and said that she would look into the matter and give me a call back later on that nightOf course, no callWhen I checked the website the next day (02/26/2015) it still says, "We cannot provide any information about your refund." My sister and friend all when to Infinity tax and ***(the owner) did our taxes and we all are having the same problemMy friend who I accompanyed to file her taxes went on 01/31/and still have not received her refund as of 02/26/Complaint Background:Problem Occurred: 2/17/2015Name of Salesperson:*** *** Desired Settlement: Consumer bewareConsumers will not be seen at their scheduled appointment and you have to wait days before IRS will assist/give you any information about your refund since all *** workers will tell you is that your taxes were submitted but can't tell you the date of the confirmation that IRS states they sent outHow do I know that IRS received my taxesI just want evey piece of paper I signed for Infinity tax along with all my personal information so that I can go somewhere else. Dear Ms***, This is in response to the complaint filed by *** ***. Ms*** has been a client of mines for over years and it is very disheartening to even have to respond to such a claimAs stated before, many people fail to realize that your tax preparer has NO control over the IRS and when the IRS decides to release an individuals tax refundMs*** appointment was on 2/5/2015, I cannot confirmthe length of time that she waited to be seenBut all of my clients are aware that during the end of January through February wait times can be up to an hour (sometimes longer)Just like any service appointment, wait times can vary depending upon clients seen before you and whatever issue they may haveWhen Ms*** appointment was complete she received copies of everything that she signed and she was informed that she should receive her refund within 2-weeksThe IRS had announced prior to the start of this filing season that refunds may be delayed for various reasons. As of February 27, 2015, Ms*** had not received her refund, and I did understand ALL of my clients frustrations that had not received their refunds in a timely fashionBut again, I have no control overthe IRS releasing refundsMs*** came to my office that day very irate and in an attacking manner. The IRS website was not giving her the information she was looking for, so she assumed her taxes had not been filed. Southfield police had to be called to my office, because she pushed in the glass of my reception window and went after one of my employees because my employee refused to stand there while Ms*** verbally attacked her. In front of the police, Ms*** stated she came to my office with the intent of troubleShe asked for the confirmation receipt from the IRS, and this is something that does not existI was able to show her a print out from my computer that was dated for 2/25/showing her taxes had been accepted. She refused to accept what she saw on paper that her taxes had been accepted, and acknowledge the fact that it was 2/and maybe the IRS system was not updated accurately. Ms*** received her refund on 3/5/via direct deposit, exactly one week after she claims her taxes were not filedThis was weeks from the time her taxes were filedOriginally she was told it could take 2-weeks.Her direct deposit was rejected because the bank account number that she confirmed was rejected by her bank as invalid and therefore my office had received a notification to print her a check on 3/10/2015.When her refund showed on my system as being received, I had already mailed her tax packet certified mailThere is nothing else for Ms*** to receive from my office. I would like to add, no business ever wants to lose a client, but I do understand that sometimes that is what's bestAs I stated earlier, Ms*** had been a client of mines for over yearsIf she did not believe or trust inme or my work, she would not have stayed a client or referred countless people to my officeI hate that police had to get involved, but Ms*** needs to understand, you cannot get upset and attack people. A police reportwas filed with the Southfield Police DepartmentShe was never disrespected or mistreated in my office and I would have like to think she would have responded to this situation differently. If there is anything further, please feel free to contact me. Sincerely, *** N***, Owner
