Review: At first this practice seems to be very welcoming and friendly. Was very satisfied with my initial vist . Dr. Barbazon himself was very professional. I had visited Dr. Barbazon with issues concerning severe back pain and possible organ issues. I was quickly scheduled for blood work and an MRI. I was prescribed pain medication. After these tests were done, I waited patiently for results. Days turned to weeks and weeks turned into well over a month. I made a call concerning the results. I was told that the Dr. Does not call his patients with results and I must set another appointment to discuss the results. I did so ( the appointment was set for 2 weeks out) in the mean time I had called back requesting a partial refill on one of my prescriptions when severe back pain had returned after completing some simple yard work. The receptionist said "No, to do that you must see the Dr." ( my appointment was 1 1/2 weeks out at this time) unfortunately I had to lose 2days of work and stay home with basic aspirin . The day of my appointment came and I had realized it was an early morning appointment and I missed it. I called that day before noon hoping I could still come in. I was told "No, earliest is the following week and there will be a $30 fee" . I explained that I felt I should have received some sort of advance call or email or some message reminding me of my appointment . The receptionist said " what dr does that?" I was shocked. I told her I was done with them and would find another practice. She replied " ok we will send you the bill for $30 in the mail" and hung up. Overall , it seems like this office cares more about the money than the patient. They were very quick to charge my insurance co $217 for that initial 20 minute visit, $800+ for the MRI, $250+for blood work , and what ever the prescriptions may have cost. No follow up, leaving me concerned about my well being. To get results,refills You must set another $217 (+co pay) appointment . And you won't be reminded. ($30 fee)Desired Settlement: 1. The dr. Seems fantastic. Is he aware of his staffs interaction with his patients? 2. Receptionist Need to be more service friendly3. Need to implement an appointment reminder system4. Should not have to pay $30 fee..

This letter is in response to your letter of August 20, 2013, regarding the complaints of **. [redacted]. We are very sad and sorry to hear of his disappointment with our Family Practice. It is our overwhelming desire to provide our patients with the best medical care humanly possible. We pride ourselves not only in giving stellar care and treatment to our patients, but also in providing them with warm, friendly, and attentive service.

We are truly saddened that **. [redacted] was disappointed by the care he received from our office. Hopefully, in the future, he will be able to find a practice that will be better able to service his needs.

We will, at this time, remove the $30 missed appointment fee from **. [redacted]’s account and hope that that will in some way accommodate his complaints regarding our office. We truly wish him all the best.
