Dr Jose Sosa DDS

I am writing to complain about an experience I recently had with Dr Jose Sosa, DDS
I purchased a private plan with Delta Dental that had very high ratings The first time I used the plan was my visit to Dr Sosa’s office
From the first interaction with him, he complained over and over about HMO’s and how they screw dentists/doctors and how they make no money for treatments, etc, etc
I knew my case was a bit complicated, I had trauma to my front two teeth and would need them to be extracted and have a bridge installed
He took X-rays and did an exam and cleaning They told me they would submit to insurance and get back to me with a treatment plan with costs
The receptionist called me today and walked through the prices She told me that the total price for all services would be $14, I was shocked….then she said that the Doctor was willing to
give me discounts to the tune of $8000+ which would bring my total due down to $ (these prices were after insurance contribution) I asked her to email me the treatment plan that we had just reviewed so I could look it over…which she did
I then told the receptionist that the prices were higher than I had expected and I was going to call Care Credit to increase my credit limit and I’d have to get back to her I hung up the phone and a few moments later, the receptionist called me back and told me that if I was using Care Credit that I wasn’t eligible for all of the discounts…some, but not all I asked why that was the case She said that Care Credit discounts the amount paid to the provider I told her I would check with Care Credit and get back to her with my plan
I am not an insurance guru by any means but something about this wasn’t seeming right to me I decided to call Delta and see what I could find out The woman that took my call was great…she listened to the experience I had just had with Dr Sosa’s office and asked if there were any codes on the quote that I had received—there were
We walked through of the list of treatments needed along with the out of pocket costs for my plan and then compared them to the “original” charges as well as the “discounted” rates that were on my treatment plan

He starts off by telling how horrible your insurance plan is and it is a waste of money….over and over during your appointment to get you thinking you basically are getting taken advantage of by the insurance company Then he inflates the costs, then acting like a nice guy by giving you a “discount”….all of which is higher than what submitting to insurance would be He is a fraud and is taking advantage of unknowing people This needs to be stopped He is a fraud and a con-man
