This patient's complaint is so full of inaccuracies it is difficult to know where to beginWhether the appointment on 10/12/was cancelled on our end or if she missed it is irrelevantThe patient was never treatment planned for "crowns and a bridge," as she stated, but instead was planned for
a 3-unit bridge from #to tooth #The patient was also never charged $but was charged $for the bridge, the lab fee and the provisional feeUpon delivery of fixed prosthodontics, the lab fee and provisional fee is typically waived.Let's start at her first appointmentThe patient presented 8/31/with a periodontally abscessed tooth #with a nonrestorable prognosisThe patient elected to have the tooth extracted and to have a bridge made to replace the missing toothThe abutment teeth for the bridge #and #were prepared for the bridge on the same day and provisionals were placed on the abutment teethPatient's are typically billed the day of preparationAny outstanding balances are collected on day of delivery of the prosthesisThe patient was instructed to return if the provisionals fell off, as provisionals are cemented with temporary cement to facilitate easy removalThe patient presented 9/1/and 9/28/to have a provisional recementedThe patient was scheduled 10/12/to have the bridge deliveredAfter this 10/12/17, the patient would not rescheduleAfter many months, the patient finally represented to the office on 2/16/The provisionals were no longer present on the teeth, as they typically only last for several weeksThe patient had stated she was unaware of when they fell off, but had been gone for potentially monthsLetting so much time go by after the provisionals had fallen off was negligent on the patient's partBecause of the patient's own negligence, the abutment teeth had shiftedWhen I went to deliver and seat the bridge, it no longer fit due to the patient's own negligenceI explained this to the patient and that the bridge would have to be remadeThe patient was not interested in having it remade and got out of the chairI explained that if she left her teeth in the current condition, she could lose those teeth because of dental decayThe patient then left the officeThe $covers our fees for the tab, the provisionalization and the materials used in the fabricationI stand by my work and clinical judgment 100%, This patient is mid-treatment and I would still be happy to remake the bridge for the patient.DrMatthew W***

[redacted] I find it interesting that it is now irrelevant as to whether or not the appointment on 10/12/17 was cancelled on the dentist end or if the patient missed it. It was very relevant when Dr. W[redacted] took time to argue the point with the patient.   I never said I was not interested in having the bridge remade (as stated), however what I was not interested in was having the dentist argue with me about who cancelled the appointment. If it was irrelevant as stated in the dentist response why argue with me. I told Dr. W[redacted] I could not afford to pay another $300 to have the bridge remade. I am currently making monthly payments for the original bridge. I asked if I could take the bridge that I paid for Dr. W[redacted] told me no it was illegal for me to leave with it.  No patient should be talked to the way I was talked to, it was very unprofessional.
