This is our response to Mr ***'s complaint. We have been out to his house several times and completed all requested work according to our standards. *** has a quality control company in place where customers can call and request to have their contractors work inspected to ensure all of
the work was completed properly. This QC company also randomly inspects their contractors jobs as well. The QC company inspected our work at Mr***'s house and found all of our work was performed properly. At some point after that Mr*** contacted me stating his home felt more drafty than before so I had the QC company go back out and look into this. Again they found no deficiencies and suggested that moving the thermostat would help. Mr *** has since left me a couple of messages stating he wanted his house tested again. We have already tested his home after our work was completed with great results so this would be redundant. Our post test and two *** QC inspections failed to find anything deficient. Mr *** and I have had a difficult time communicating as he can only take calls after 7pm
Description Of Work:
Began with an energy audit that included:
inspecting attic insulation and duct sealing and integrity; pressurizing the house to find air leaks at doors and windows.
Then sealed duct work in attic and where duct registers enter house living area. Also sealed doors and gave other good advice.
Outstanding investment!
Workman arrived right on time and it took him about three days to do everything but he was very thorough and professional. Everything very well done including clean up. very professional!
The dust we had been seeing indoors disappeared almost immediately! Our ductwork obviously had many more problems than we were aware of because our electric bills dropped right away and the house is more comfortable. he suggested during summer that we program our thermostats at 75 degrees at 10 am and 80 at noon to precool the house using off peak electricity rates and that really has worked well. our units do not restart until about 3 pm or later on the hottest days.
he also suggested we replace our single speed pool pump with variable speed pump and we did and it has exceed my expectations. I think we have reduced our pool pump electricity costs by at least $50 a month.
The big bonus of all his work and recommendations is that our electricity bills are down $200 a month or more from summer months last year. in August 2014 we paid $551 and this year we paid $346.
In August 2015, the billing days were 1 less than in 2014, but it was 1 degree warmer this month than in 2014; the amount of electricity we used decreased; the percentage of on-peak use decreased; our demand usage decreased; our average daily cost decreased and our total electricity charges decreased.
We are absolutely delighted with the audit, the recommendations, the work done and the results of reducing our electricity costs and making our house more comfortable and almost dust free.
