Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:I wish to clarify the many erroneous statements made by the business First of all, I did not interview caregivers I was only offered to interview two, who were to split the work week between them I contacted the sales rep, Brian A [redacted] , because he had led me to believe that I would have the option of interviewing several caregivers Apparently, the two I interviewed were the only one's available at the time but he said if they did not work out they would find others The first caregiver was only to work Friday and Saturday and then come back the following Thursday I told Tabitha, the weekend scheduler, that caregiver #left my husband alone in the family room while he watched movies in the kitchen on his tablet He also never said one word to my husband My husband has [redacted] and had a [redacted] , but he was a doctor and is very intelligent They can sense when somebody does not care about them I never told Tabitha I did not want him back; I thought that he should be disciplined When I interviewed caregiver #I asked if she had any problems transferring patients from bed to wheel chair She said she had picked up a lbman that day When she arrived for duty, she suddenly turned very frail and asked me to help her transfer my husband, which I did The rest of the day she sat there and did nothing These caregivers are not trained at all even though Brian told me they were all trained in dealing with [redacted] patients My husband is not very aggressive and combative Brian sat here in my home with my husband at the table with us Jamie was here for 1/hour on Friday the 23rd of March and my husband did not make a sound The statement about the nurse asking for help is a total lie No nurse was ever here when the caregivers were here On Monday, March 5th, caregiver #was sent here She had absolutely no experience with patients She wanted to do housework for me She didn't know how to change a patient and she left him wet all dayShe said she would love to take care of my husband but could not work hours I had never hired the two previous caregivers privately They worked for me through an agency called [redacted] *** They had developed a fondness for my husband and when I told them I went with another agency, they asked me the name and said they would apply because they really loved taking care of my husband I never asked CT In Home Assistance to hire the caregivers; I simply recommended them because Tabitha said they would have to search for a new caregiver for me I never asked CT In Home Assistance to hire them They tell me they were never told that I would be charged a higher rate if they were hired Somebody at CT In Home Assistance messed up, and I feel that it is their problem, not mine I signed a contract for $a day and the caregivers signed a contract for $an hour If the business is so unorganized, maybe they should not remain in business Jamie did not spend over two hours at my house, that is a total, total lie He spent at the most, 1/hour He told me I didn't have to make a decision right away I called him on Monday, and he never returned my call The caregivers called him, and he never returned their calls There was no miscommunication; there was a total lack of communication I filled out the $contract in good faith and it should be honored The caregivers were hired for a $rate of pay and that should be honored The business is trying to pull a "bait and switch." I have also contacted the [redacted] , and they said they had billing problems with the business in the past They try to prey on the needy The company made an error, so that is their problem I don't care how long they have been in business I spoke to someone who works for the [redacted] who worked with the former [redacted] trainer from CT In Home and she said she is appalled at the behavior of the business How can Jamie say he gave me every opportunity to continue care with the agency when he never had the courtesy to return my phone call? Tabitha from CT In Home thanked me profusely for bringing my former caregivers to them They had nobody else to send at the time because it's difficult to find good caregivers at a $pay rate What CT In Home Assistance does is hire anyone who is breathing as long as they are willing to take that pay rateThat's why they don't know how to handle patients The caregivers I have do not have any problems handling my husbandCT In Home Assistance does not do any training The Physical Therapist who came here the second day Caregiver #worked, noticed that he did not have any interest in learning how to do some range of motion exercises She could not believe that he had problems transferring my husband because the caregiver was a large burly manHowever, his other job with CT In Home is an overnight, where he just sleeps near the client The company needs to change their brochure and their website because it's a fraud How many other innocent victims have there been? I would love to speak with the media about this issue and would be very happy if they would contact me I don't believe a criminal and fraudulent agency like CT In Home Assistance should be allowed to stay in business [redacted] Sincerely, [redacted] ***

Tell us why here*** ***I am sorry that your experience with my company did not go well, I am not going to go back and forth with you on what happened, my response was a 100% accurate and I have it documented step by step as I do with every case. Your accusations that we act fraudulently or that we tried to do a bait in switch and that we have had billing complaints before are slanderous and libelous. I came out to discuss with you the misunderstanding and spent two hours trying to figure out the best option for you and your husbands care with my company. We never charged you more than the $price nor did we pay the caregivers less than their pay $per hour rateWe would have certainly continued to provide care for the agreed upon price of $dollars if it was not for your decision to cancel services with us. I have voicemails which I have saved from both you and the caregivers stating that you were going to work together privately, my office spoke with both the caregivers as well as you on Monday. I am truly saddened that you feel this way because my personal mission and mission as a company is to help the elderly and my sole attention when I came out to speak with you was to work with you on continued care for your husband and acknowledge that there was a misunderstanding and that we would and did honor our contract, but we could not continue to pay more than we were billing

Tell us why here.CT in Home assistance did provide service for *** *** at the price of $dollars per hour shift and all our prices are displayed online as well as in our brochures. We started service on March 2nd after paying and sending three caregivers for interviews with *** ***
*** *** and she accepted those who we sent for interviews. After two days of service she did not feel the first caregiver was a good match. We replaced the caregiver with another caregiver which she had also interviewed and had accepted for care. This caregiver called the agency and said that the client was very aggressive and combative, but would stay with clientWe then added a second caregiver to split the week and when the caregiver arrived a nurse was at the home and asked our caregiver for help with the client because she could not handle him alone, this caregiver was ok with the care and only had one day of care with *** *** *** then spoke with two caregivers she had hired privately in the past but did not want to assume any liability and asked if we would hire them thru our agency. We agreed, interviewed screened and processed the two caregivers, they both had asked for a much higher rate of pay, we said we could only pay them a higher rate if *** *** was going to cover the cost. They started care for *** *** on March 6th and it seemed that *** *** was happy with the two caregivers. I had told my staff that we would have to charge her an hourly rate of $for the new caregivers to cover the increased hourly rate in which these caregivers demanded and stated, “they would not work for less” and to asked *** *** if she was okay with this charge increase for the caregiversWhen reviewing the billing on March 22nd we noticed we were still charging our $rate to *** *** and called her to inform her that the billing for the previous week did not reflect the increase, that it should have been $per hour. She said that she was not aware of this and she could not afford this increase. I called her back immediately and went out to the house March 22nd to go over the miscommunication. I spent over two hours talking with her and explaining it was a misunderstanding and that we would not charge her anymore then the agreed upon price of $a shift but that we could not continue the way it was because it was costing us more than we were charging. I also explained that we could continue care with the caregivers we had in place prior to *** *** asking us to hire her caregivers or she could interview other caregivers, she did not want to do that. I asked the caregivers if they wanted to compromise and they refused tooI told her that I was not there to charge anymore nor take her caregivers, but I could not afford to pay her caregivers more then I was charging and if she wanted to stay with the agency I would either have to replace the caregivers or have a compromise to cover the increased wages which were demanded by her caregiversShe did not want to replace the caregivers and did they would not work for lessI went over several options with her, I told *** *** that I was not going to enforce any part of the contract for the *** hiring the caregivers directly and that what I was most concern about was for husband’s care. I also told *** *** I would make the contract null and void, she could hire the caregivers directly, which she has doneI never charged her more than the agreed upon $dollars a day and the caregivers were paid their requested rate, which was a loss to my company of over $1,dollarsThis was not a case of criminal or fraudulent behavior this was a case of an agency that has been in business for eighteen years who was trying to do the best they could by the client after discovering a miscommunication from our agency. We honored our service agreement and gave *** *** every opportunity to continue care with our agency. We wish her the best of luck and hope that her husband receives the care he deservesRegards,Jamieson F W***CEO

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:I wish to clarify the many erroneous statements made by the business.  First of all, I did not interview 3 caregivers.  I was only offered to interview two, who were to split the work week between them.  I contacted the sales rep, Brian A[redacted], because he had led me to believe that I would have the option of interviewing several caregivers.  Apparently, the two I interviewed were the only one's available at the time but he said if they did not work out they would find others.  The first caregiver was only to work Friday and Saturday and then come back the following Thursday.  I told Tabitha, the weekend scheduler, that caregiver #1 left my husband alone in the family room while he watched movies in the kitchen on his tablet.  He also never said one word to my husband.  My husband has [redacted] and had a [redacted], but he was a doctor and is very intelligent.  They can sense when somebody does not care about them.  I never told Tabitha I did not want him back; I thought that he should be disciplined.  When I interviewed caregiver #2 I asked if she had any problems transferring patients from bed to wheel chair.  She said she had picked up a 300 lb. man that day.  When she arrived for duty, she suddenly turned very frail and asked me to help her transfer my husband, which I did.  The rest of the day she sat there and did nothing.  These caregivers are not trained at all even though Brian told me they were all trained in dealing with [redacted] patients.  My husband is not very aggressive and combative.  Brian sat here in my home with my husband at the table with us.  Jamie was here for 1/2 hour on Friday the 23rd of March and my husband did not make a sound.  The statement about the nurse asking for help is a total lie.  No nurse was ever here when the caregivers were here.  On Monday, March 5th, caregiver #3 was sent here.  She had absolutely no experience with patients.  She wanted to do housework for me.  She didn't know how to change a patient and she left him wet all day. She said she would love to take care of my husband but could not work 12 hours.  I had never hired the two previous caregivers privately.  They worked for me through an agency called [redacted].  They had developed a fondness for my husband and when I told them I went with another agency, they asked me the name and said they would apply because they really loved taking care of my husband.  I never asked CT In Home Assistance to hire the caregivers; I simply recommended them because Tabitha said they would have to search for a new caregiver for me.  I never asked CT In Home Assistance to hire them.  They tell me they were never told that I would be charged a higher rate if they were hired.  Somebody at CT In Home Assistance messed up, and I feel that it is their problem, not mine.  I signed a contract for $200 a day and the caregivers signed a contract for $16 an hour.  If the business is so unorganized, maybe they should not remain in business.  Jamie did not spend over two hours at my house, that is a total, total lie.  He spent at the most, 1/2 hour.  He told me I didn't have to make a decision right away.  I called him on Monday, and he never returned my call.  The caregivers called him, and he never returned their calls.  There was no miscommunication; there was a total lack of communication.  I filled out the $200 contract in good faith and it should be honored.  The caregivers were hired for a $16 rate of pay and that should be honored.  The business is trying to pull a "bait and switch."  I have also contacted the [redacted], and they said they had billing problems with the business in the past.  They try to prey on the needy.  The company made an error, so that is their problem.  I don't care how long they have been in business.  I spoke to someone who works for the [redacted] who worked with the former [redacted] trainer from CT In Home and she said she is appalled at the behavior of the business.  How can Jamie say he gave me every opportunity to continue care with the agency when he never had the courtesy to return my phone call?  Tabitha from CT In Home thanked me profusely for bringing my former caregivers to them.  They had nobody else to send at the time because it's difficult to find good caregivers at a $10.40 pay rate.  What CT In Home Assistance does is hire anyone who is breathing as long as they are willing to take that pay rate. That's why they don't know how to handle patients.  The caregivers I have do not have any problems handling my husband. CT In Home Assistance does not do any training.  The Physical Therapist who came here the second day Caregiver #1 worked, noticed that he did not have any interest in learning how to do some range of motion exercises.  She could not believe that he had problems transferring my husband because the caregiver was a large burly man. However, his other job with CT In Home is an overnight, where he just sleeps near the client.  The company needs to change their brochure and their website because it's a fraud.  How many other innocent victims have there been?  I would love to speak with the media about this issue and would be very happy if they would contact me.  I don't believe a criminal and fraudulent agency like CT In Home Assistance should be allowed to stay in business.  [redacted]
Sincerely,
[redacted]
