Patient [redacted] was seen in our clinic on Jan 9, 2015.Office visit was submitted to insurance (Regence)Th4e visit was processed with a$Co Pay -see attachment- that was later billed to the patientPatient did not pay hercopay of $40.73, and the sum of $was sent to collection. In reading the letter from her, I do not understand why she filed the complaintShe has topay her insurance CoPay, that's allPlease let me know if additional information is neededThank you,Mihaela P***, MD, ND

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because zero of my concerns were addresses which seem to be a repeated pattern from previous correspondence therefore I am re-pasting below:
I have contacted this provider regarding the adverse reaction to a medicine that I purchased from herThe symptoms were almost an immediate nauseous and extreme bloating type of feeling to the point where I held my head over the toilet in caseShe responded with: "I apologize in advance for saying this, but you are totally wasting my time You are not my patient any more, and even so I did my best to accommodate your emails and requests. Please do not contact me any more." I have never encountered such unprofessionalism from someone who is a healthcare provider and it is frightening to say the least.Sincerely,***

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
Per my 5/11/email, I started taking the medication weeks prior to 5/11/per my new naturopath's instructionsShe took months and months to respond to an email from June which wasn't responded to until OctoberSee email from 5/13/below:
DrP***,
I think you may be unclear still as to my inquiry
I have been under the care of a naturopath since January and she has already prescribed as part of my regimen to discontinue use of the licorice due to the adverse reaction, hence, I do not need to know why, I need to know what to do with the product that I purchased from youMy doctor said she would allow me to return it had I purchased it from her but I didn'tPlease advise
Thank you
There were other emails back and forth in which P*** stated that she would not refund unopened itemsMy current naturopath stated that she wouldn't hesitate to refund a patient who had such an adverse reaction to a product, however DrP*** flat out refusedSo I asked her how to return it to the manufacturer and she said they don't allow refunds either, even if it caused such adverse reactionI dont know how I would have refunded an unopened item if I hadn't tried it in the first place to get the reaction to knowI have never had such a reaction to any medication
Sincerely,*** ***

When a new patient has a min visit, and they do not have insurance and pay at the time of service, they pay $240.00Our office visit was minutes, and was billed to *** insuranceInsurance allowed a total of $261.00, but the insurance paid $143.17, and patient's responsibility was $
Patient paid at the time of service $20.00, so the remaining $was billed to the patient.Because office visit was in January 6, 2016, and more than a year has passed without the bill of $being paid, her account was submitted to collections. After that- this week- I received the payment for $97.83- thank you, so the patient was removed from the collection list.Thank you

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: The minute office visit was due to Dr P***'s own doing not mine and not for my medical benefitAs stated before she was un-prepared for my appointment with a non-working laptopThe appointment would not have been minutes long if Dr P*** was not attempting to fix her laptop which was required for the appointmentThe length of the appointment was her own doing that she did not account for in the total office visit time but instead billed my insurance for itIn reviewing other reviews and complaints you can see a history of issues with billing patients insurances and money owed to Dr P*** after an initial visit. The $was paid by me due to the decision not to ruin my credit over such a small amount of money out of pocketIf I had a recording of the initial office visit and/or proof of her own negligence I would have taken legal action against herThe amount of $does not suffice legal action with an attorneyMy sole purpose of the complaints and reviews is to put a stop to this Dr getting away with bogus amounts and visits being billed to insurance companies and patients as she has continued to do over the yearsI feel she owes me the $back and my insurance company as the "extended office visit" was her own negligence and unpreparednessHer is her word against mine unfortunately in this situation but notice there is no rebuttal in regards to the non-working laptop she so very knows that she was struggling with on working properly for this appointmentThe patient should have a voice when Dr's are claiming insurance billingsThe question remains why would I spend so much time and effort over such a small amount unless the Dr was really in the wrong? I wouldn't
Sincerely,
*** ***

Miss [redacted] purchased on Jan 9 2015 Licorice tincture made by Herb Farm, a reputable company from Oregon. She contacted me several times after this office visit (by emails that I have available for you: 1/11/15, 1/12/15, 1/30/15, 3/10/15), but she didn't mention anything about licorice side effects between January 9 and May 13 (when she received the Insurance Copay/Coinsurance bill). All her emails were answered, even long after she was not my patient any more. I also answered her 5/13/15 email regarding the licorice, when she responds "Hi Dr. P[redacted], Thanks for your prompt response". I did answer all her emails, but she was not happy.
After she continued to receive the Co-Pay co-insurance bill for $40.73, in October she sent me this email:
"I continue receiving notices for payment from your office. Please advise. I know how critical social media and online reputation is these days."
I have this email also in my inbox.
I am sorry I couldn't help her the way she wanted, but I am just doing my job (that I love).
