Dr. Robert Delaney, DDS Reviews (1)

Review: I am very unhappy with the service or lack of service I received from Dr. [redacted]. My biggest complaint is that when Dr. [redacted] performed a root canal he did not properly numb the area, I first experienced a huge amount of pain while drilling, spoke up and it resulted in him having to give a shot of novacaine straight to the root of my molar. This was EXTREMELY painful. I have a very high tolerance for pain, (I have had chronic back pain for 12 years) this was terrible. Dr. [redacted] did not really even address the lack of care, the pain or anything even after verbally notifying him. He sent me on my way and I did not return to his office. The temporary cap that was placed fell out 2 days later. I never received a call or anything from his office, they sent my bill to collections without even contacting me. I believe they know they did not provide a good service. The collection bill resulted in thousands of dollars, and my teeth are worse off now then they were when I first made a visit to Dr. [redacted]. I would not reccommend anyone I know to go to Dr. [redacted].Desired Settlement: Because this bill was sent straight to collection I would like to request a refund of the collection fees and the root canal that was not performed correctly and cap fell out 2 days later. I had intended on paying the bill for service but with the lack of service, customer service and the fact that I am still having pain and have now paid for the services that were unsatisfactory I am not happy. I am now having to seek service from another dentist for the same issues I have already paid for.

Response:

I treated an acute pulpitis on tooth #18 for [redacted] on 4/27/2012. My notes show nothing unusual regarding her care. 90% of root canai treatments are painless and uneventful although very time consuming. It is not at all uncommon to find the need to give an intrapulpal injection on a molar endodontic case and this is the standard of care when required, as it was in this case. Her tooth had massive decay and she was in pain, due to the inflammation of the pulp which we quickly relieved. Intrapulpal injections certainly are painful, but very quick. Her case proceeded normally. We did not place a "temporary cap” and she did not call us to tefl us anything was wrong. We completely explained the procedure to her Including the need to achieve complete anesthesia. She simply did not return, possibly because she found out her health insurance would not cover this type of procedure. We were unsuccessful in attempts to reach her although we left several messages on her answering machine. Her story regarding any lack of explanation is totally false as are her allegations that she never received a call. She had an appointment with us that she did not show up for. Why would she not calf and complain if any of this were true as we document every call. This is the first time I have heard of any complaint.
