We originally bid well over $3000.00 to remove the tree. The customer then agreed for us to remove the tree for $1000.00 but leave all the debris as is. He said I have you an additional $200.00 to haul the debris something we would have never agreed upon. By the tie time we realized what he had done and spoke to him a big headache and mess was created in efforts to keep the client happy we hauled all the debris raked the yard did a full cleanup and stacked 90% of the trunk wood at the street. We left the other 10% as originally agreed upon cut but in disturbed. At this point we just did $3000.00 of work for $1200.00 just to keep this guy happy. The other trees where never included in the price and we even wrote NO CLEANUP NO HAUL on the check memo. Never again will I accept a walk up client on the spot without a contract.

Dear Revdex.com, first I would like to explain why I have not replied to the business owners reply. We have been out West on a two week trip to the five great National Parkes in Utah. We have just returned and I saw your notice. The business owner is lying about everything. First, he never said a word about quoting the removal of that tree costing $3,000.00. He was removing trees in a neighbor’s yard and I asked him what he would charge to cut down this large tree? He said I can cut it down for $1000.00, I then asked him what he would charge to remove the debris and limbs and leave the wood cut up and by the street. He said that would be another $200.00. I asked him what he would charge to take down two smaller trees in the yard? He said no problem I will just cut them down for you, no extra charge. I said great, when will you do this? He said this week. I said we are going to Alaska and so you won’t have to wait for two weeks to get your money, I will pay you right now. When we came back from Alaska nothing had been done. I asked him why he had not cut down the tree and he replied that there had been a storm and he had emergency calls that were more important than our tree. I said, I understand but when will you take down our tree that we have already paid you to remove. He then sent me text messages telling me not to worry and he will get to it. After two months of going back and forth finally they came and took down half the tree and cleaned up the debris. It took a while but they finally came back and cut down the other half of the tree in large pieces and left it where it fell.
If the Business Owner made a bad deal, that is not my fault. He took the money and agreed to do a job. He took over three months to do a partial completion. My neighbor was there when he took the job.
I owned a business for over 40 years. I was a member of the Revdex.com and I never treated a customer the way this owner has treated me.
