If I could give ZERO stars….
Due to unforeseen circumstances, our new beautiful, two-piece, DreamSofa sleeper sectional needed to be disassembled and reassembled to fit into a small room. We were also waiting on two bottom bases which weren’t delivered with the sectional pieces.

We paid DreamSofa upfront to schedule this service with Dr. Sofa. The technicians arrived on the scheduled service date and time, one half hour late. They assured me the sectional would be as though they never touched it when they were finished.

I left them alone while they did their work. When they were done, it was in the small room and looked wonderful (or so I thought). That is until the bases arrived the next day and I had to move the two sectional parts in order to attach the bases. That’s when I saw the
front right side and almost cried.

Not only did they hide this from me by not telling me, they went so far as to tell DreamSofa they disassembled both pieces. This was completely false.

We paid over $4,000.00 for this sectional. Instead of returning it, we put our trust in the Dr. Sofa technicians to make good on their word, paying for their service in advance….

They are still denying any wrong doing and insist on the additional cost of the sleeper portion even though we only paid for one part to be disassembled/reassembled. At no time did either of the technicians come to me regarding the second piece. And they made no effort to inform me about the front seams. There’s no way they would not have known about this. It’s clearly visible. They merely put the two pieces together thinking “out of sight, out of mind”.

Before and after pictures attached.

Hi [redacted], I am writing in response to complaint ID [redacted]. Also attaching the scanned mailed correspondence. It is most unfortunate that any damage was done to this customer’s home, no matter how minor. We are confused however by the accusation that we gave him the "runaround". The...

customer insisted we pay $325 to repair a nick in the wood of his doorway. We investigated and settled for the full amount in less than 10 business days.  Our agreement with the customer allowed us to issue the check within 30 days of our agreement, but because of the incessant and excessively aggressive calls from the client, we instead overnighted the payment.  The customer continues to post false reports that we were unresponsive violating ethical and legal parameters. We have all communications (emails, pictures and recorded calls) to demonstrate our position.  We respectfully request that Revdex.com dismiss the customer complaint or post our response.  Please advise if there anything in specific you need me to provide you. Best,

Review: I contacted Dr Sofa on July [redacted] to have my couch disassembled, moved to a different room, and then reassembled. The work was performed on Friday July [redacted] and the couch was assembled correctly in the basement. However, the crew who came to the house not only littered the floor with a matchbox, lighter and wood scraps from the couch, but left several deep scratches in my newly finished hardwood floors. The company who performed the floor refinishing, Lady Baltimore Flooring, assessed the damage and due to the depth of the gouges in the floor stated that the entire floor must be refinished. Sanding and refinishing just the damaged area would result in grooves and unevenness in the floor due to how far it would need to be sanded down.

I notified Dr Sofa of the damage on July [redacted] with photos and measurements of the scratches. The response was that Dr Sofa would pay their own contractor to fix the damage, to which I responded that it was not acceptable. My response was on account of the risks of severe damage posed by floor refinishing, non-uniformity with the rest of the floors due to multiple contractors, and the damage that their previous technicians caused to my home. To this Dr Sofa requested an estimate from my floor contractor, and after this estimate was generated and sent to Dr Sofa, Dr Sofa repeated their offer of using their own contractor and would not provide monetary compensation. Dr Sofa claimed that the scratches on my floor were minor and could be easily repaired, without observing the damage in person.Desired Settlement: Dr Sofa provide funds in order for me to have the floors returned to their prior state. These funds should be in cash or check form and equivalent to the cost that my contractor estimated.

Response:

At this time, I have not been contacted by Dr. Sofa regarding complaint ID [redacted].

The last time I heard from Dr. Sofa was on August [redacted], which is prior to my contacting the Revdex.com and submitting this claim. The most recent email exchange is attached. I did not respond to the final email from Dr Sofa; rather, I chose to submit this complaint via the Revdex.com because their response was insufficient.

Sincerely,

Response:

To whom it may concern:

[redacted], contacted us to perform a service in his home one July [redacted]. As per company policy once the service is completed, the customer is required to sign a work order, acknowledging that the job was performed to their standard and agreeing to the charge that is going to be placed in their credit card. This form was signed by [redacted],( see attached) and there was no mention of any damages occurred during our technician’s time in his home.

After a couple of days, we received an email from [redacted], claiming there were damages and that they were cause by our team. As a professional company, we strive to provide the best customer service possible, we asked [redacted] to provide a picture of the damages and after consulting with several of our refinishers, we came to the conclusion that the damages are indeed reparable and offered [redacted] one of our expert contractors to fix his floors. He refused our offer and provided us with an estimate twice the amount of what he paid for our services. We are willing to fix the damage that he claims was caused by our technicians or refund the full price of our services.

Review: Dr Sofa was subcontracted by [redacted] who were organizing the move of our household from New York to Europe. Dr Sofa was called in to disassemble the sofa as it was slightly too large to move out of our appartment (even though it got delivered through the same door without any damage 2 years earlier). Dr Sofa took apart the two sides of the sofa, took off all the wrapping material and started to push the sofa out of the appartment, knowingly that it's tight and walls have been damaged already by [redacted]. They pushed the sofa back and forth and damaged it severly. Leather got ripped off and cut from all sides, large holes and the interior material came out. After telling Dr Sofa employees to stop doing this, and when confronted them with the damage, they argued it was like this before. After mentioning that we certainly know how the sofa looked like before, they got very rude and wanted to leave the appartment immediately. When asking for a business card, they could and did not want to give any details about the company, pretending to work on their own and not having any insurance. After almost 2 hours of debating, the Dr Sofa employee (two others were silent) almost started a fight, becoming physically aggressive. Finally, the [redacted] move company showed up and helped to move out the sofa. Outside, Dr Sofa started to assemble the sofa again, but the two side parts were put on the wrong side. After all this, the Dr Sofa people left very rude and [redacted] now is filing a claim with their insurance.Desired Settlement: Apology for sending such unprofessional, underqualified and rude people to the customer.
