Dr Soot Chimney Sweep

I contacted Dr Soot at the recommendation of a friend Had a great conversation initially but it went downhill from there I needed a spark arrest (which I am still not certain is complete) however it was supposed to be completed on the 14th of October, I still haven't been able to confirm When I moved into my house years ago I was told I may need some bricks and mortar cracks filled (or something of this nature) Dr Soot said they recommended doing a chimney sweep That they wouldn't do the bricks and mortars that needed filled but they would do the sweep and confirm if it was needed or not The paperwork I reviewed confirmed there was not any issues with the bricks and mortar I paid the invoice via the receipt emailed to me My brother in law, who is renting the home, said they basically vacuumed the chimney but there was no camera or anything to check the bricks and mortar I have emailed twice and called three times to confirm what services were performed on my home and indeed mortar work need not be done (based on my brother in laws stellar review of how the services were performed) Mind you, I never requested a sweep, it was recommended as the next step to confirm what was or was not needed for the bricks and mortar The gentleman I talked with twice was offended every time I talked with him that I would down play his work (which I can' confirm was done as they've no record of coming to my house, even though I have paid them I have left multiple messages for Kathy ( I believe this is who I am supposed to be speaking with) and am always told to contact her in a thirty minute window We are in the middle of a move to Texas and my husband is at basic training I am not unfamiliar with a busy schedule The time I have spent just trying to confirm work was done with the additional loss of the invoice, no record of them coming to my property, still no phone call back, and paying for work I didn't even necessarily need or want, but was told I needed it and still can't confirm it has been extremely frustrating I would still welcome a phone call and would love some accurate answers on what was actually done aside from vacuuming which I am quite capable of at quite a bit lower rate I will not be recommending them in the future and will continue to escalate this if need be

I called DrSoot to clean my dryer ventThey showed up on time and figured out where the vent led, since I had no ideaIt didn't take them much time to clean it, but I'm glad I was here because they cleaned up after themselves so thoroughly that they left no trace! The dryer works a whole lot better nowThe cycles are shorter and I no longer worry about the vent catching fire
