Drain design is excellent They installed drains around my house years ago and made a huge difference in protecting the foundation around the house and drainage and the ground saturation for the garden and trees around the house But more importantly, I didn't ask them to do the free yearly check, and years later asked if they could inspect it, and they came out for free, found a drain that had gotten buried with foliage and debris, fixed it for free, and offer to come by every few years to check it for me still Awesome company!

I contacted Drain Design to help with a drainage problem at my house in Fuquay-Varina Initial discussion was positive, they answered my questions and they had someone contact me to answer questions the first representative could not My biggest concern was that they required a payment to come to the property to give an estimate After talking to the 2nd representative, we worked out a deal to have the company come to the property and design a drain plan for the house, which I was happy to pay for We scheduled the visit days later The day before the company was scheduled to come to the house, I received an electronic invoice (for twice the amount) in an email, I called the company and explained that over the phone with the 2nd representative, I had been offered a deal that reduced the price of the visit/design plan (***'s *** deal) I also told the rep that I would send payment after the visit She told me that she would have to talk to her boss about it, but I did not hear anything back that day The next day (when the company was scheduled to come to the property) I received an email telling me they would not be able to make it to the property as they had decided to take a job closer to their office They did not offer to reschedule I cannot speak to the quality of work this company provides, I can however say that I would not recommend them based on the experience that I had trying to setup a consultation

*** came to my house to evaluate my request to install a drain box near my garage door to prevent the flooding I was experiencing in my garageI wanted the drain box to connect to the existing leader/downspout drain lineBeing the professional that he is he recommended that we check the function of the drain lineI was surprised when after minutes not one drop of water flowed out of the drainHeaven knows where it was going

*** *** and Drain Designs were referred to me by a fellow repairing some brickwork around my houseI happened to call in January and he was more than happy to meet me at my house on a SaturdayHe spent some time walking around my lot and talked with me about possible solutionsBased on the way my house is positioned on my lot, I decided to go all out and I couldn't be happierIt has been about months since they installed everything and there is actual grass growing instead of moss! The workers were by far the most professional and respectful of all the crews that have come for various jobs over the yearsThey even dug under my sidewalk instead of cutting through it when they were laying the pipes! During some of the recent heavy rains, I have watched the water flow and the drains are positioned in all the right spotsIt is like *** is a water whisperer! I couldn't be happier and I have very high expectations!

About 10/13/13, drain designs performed work on property adjacent to mine at [redacted] ct. Causing ongoing flooding and water damage to my property10/13/13 work was being performed. I had all homeowners and mr. [redacted] meet with head water and sewer engineer with town of Cary which advised the work he was doing on my neighbors property would cause me ongoing flooding and water damage. They refused to modify their plan to meet the engineers advice and as a result I now have to pay a landscaper $3500 to fix the problems drain designs has caused me. I will be taking the homeowner and drain designs to small claims courtDesired SettlementUnderground piping to collect the drainoff from [redacted] to go to the storm sewer drain as it should have been properly done. The neighbor who filed this complaint had a low spot in her yard with standing water before we started our work. She informed us of her concerns that her neighbor our client was causing her issues. We advised her that to address her problem would require some re-grading and/or a drainage plan to carry water from the low spot out to the street. Upon her request, we met with the Cary NC storm water management engineer who approved our plans for our customers property and agreed that the neighbor needed drainage improvements - he also gave her permission to cut through the curb in two areas to install two drain lines he recommended that he thought would help solve her problems. We surveyed this problem area with a rotary laser level and showed her a low spot in her yard that we offered to remedy with a drain for less than half of her current $3500 quote while our crew and equipment were there on site. I provided her with my contact info and my understanding was that she would contact us if there was a need for additional help and/or if she felt our work caused her additional problems. We haven't heard from her before this complaint. Our client (her upper neighbor) was very satisfied with our services and the way we handled her neighbors complaints. We abided by all local drainage guidelines. It is unfortunate that this person has drainage problems but it is the design and location of her lot and lack of a proper drainage system that is the problem and not her neighbor's drainage improvements.
