thank you, my response is below:
Response to Drain Surgeon’s response dated 5/3/2014.
Drain Surgeon responded to my complaint by saying that they have talked to me several times and tried to address my concerns. The reality is that Drain Surgeon never reached out to me. I called them and expressed my concerns to [redacted] and I never received a call back. It was not until they received the complaint from the Revdex.com that they reached out to me. When they did reach out to me, it was to ask me to send them a copy of the invoice. [redacted] said they could not find Drain Surgeon’s copy.  How does a business lose an invoice?  I did send them the invoice. I asked them to confirm receipt, which they did not. I had to call to ensure that they received it.

Drain Surgeon indicates that I signed the estimate and the invoice.  I signed the estimate under false pretenses. I was told that the work would take double the amount of time than it actually took and that is why I agreed to the quoted price. Yes, I signed the invoice, but what was I supposed to do once the work was done?
It is not correct that I want all of my money back. I paid $1,095 dollars and I am asking for $500 back. The work took half the time I was told. Thus, I think 45% back would be appropriate. If Drain Surgeon feels that $500 is excessive, they could easily make an offer of a lesser amount. At this point, it is apparent that Drain Surgeon has no incentive or interest in addressing this situation. All I can do is never use them again and, whenever possible, advice others not too as well.

Review: The plumber recommended that we replace about 30 feet of galvanized steel water pipes with new pipes and install about 6 new shut off valves. The plumber estimated $1200 for the work. I commented that I thought $1,200 was high given that he was going to install PVC and plastic shut-off valves. He said most of the cost is labor - that it would take him and a second guy most of the day to do the work. Given that is was two people for a full day, I then thought the estimate was a little high but reasonable and I did not want to deal with getting other estimates. The plumber came at around 8:30 and worked alone until about 10:30. A second person joined him for the last two hours. The work was completed by 12:30 (with a 15-20 minute break). I inquired about the final price, since he said most of the estimated cost was labor and that he indicated it would take 2 people most of the day to do the work (lets say 6 hours - that would have been 12 man hours). It actually took a total of 6 man hours to do the work (1 person for 2 hours = 2 and 2 people for 2 hours = 4 for a total of 6 hours). The guy did knock $95 dollars off the total price (bringing the total to $1100).Give the significantly shorter period of time it took to do the job and given the estimate was accepted on the premise that it was two people for most of the day, I was honestly looking to pay, in total, about one-half to two-third of what I was quoted (~$600).I spoke to [redacted] on 2/4/2014 and explained my concern about the cost. She said the price I paid was well below what they would nornally charge. I am not sure how she knows what the cost would of been without seeing what was done. At any rate, I told her that the fact that she thinks I got a bargain was irrelvant - the price I was quoted and paid is the issue (as described above). She said that she would talk to the technician and get back to me, but she has not gotten back to me yet. I also sent an email and posted on [redacted].Desired Settlement: I would like a $500 dollar refund since the job took half of the quoted time to complete.
