I have always purchased Bissell productsI currently have two, the [redacted] and [redacted] At first they were both wonderfulWith little time, the [redacted] leaks a good amount of waterTheir reply, "take it in to be worked on, under your own charge" The [redacted] has not only melted fibers of my new shaggy rug, but you smell and feel how significantly hot it gets after minimal timeAlso, it does not suck through the hoseTheir reply "send it in for an investigation and we'll let you know a resolution in about 4-weeks"That now leaves me purchasing a new vacuum cleaner during the holidaysWhat help is that? None! I am so sickened by this messI will not be purchasing Bissell againI will be placing the review wherever I may see fit, and know that word of mouth spreads like wildfireThat is not $worth of products that are in non working order, within less than year

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/05/07) */
We do apologize for the inconvenience caused to our customer in regards to a defective solar panelThe replacement absorber plate was covered under the manufacturers warrantyThe manufacturers warranty did not cover laborThe work
done is specialty work as the panel itself was not replaced but the absorber plate inside of the solar panelTo replace the absorber would require expertise in the fieldOur customer was given an hourly rate on labor charges but not an estimate on the total as this could not be determined at the timeThe customer was not charged for travel charges or for separate trip charges to view the defective panel then a second trip to take photos of the panel for the manufacturerWe feel that our billing is fair as we are not reimbursed for our labor from the manufacturerWe are willing to work with our customer to ensure their satisfaction
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/05/12) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I am pretty handy with plumbing issues and feel as though I could have easily done the repair myselfIn every encounter with a plumber in the past I have had an estimate given to me before the work beganBy getting an estimate, the customer can make a choiceIn this case I was not given a choiceFurthermore the part was faulty at the time of installation
I am guilty of accepting the explanation of the installer that it was condensation that I saw the day after it was originally put upI should have made an issue then, but did not realize it was leaking at the time of installation
I still feel that it was faulty at the time of installation, so Drainpipe was responsible for all parts and labor
Final Business Response /* (1000, 15, 2014/06/03) */
Drainpipe is a reputable company and we are always disturbed if a customer is dissatisfied in any wayWe will always do our best to keep our customers happyWe do apologize for all of the hard ship this has caused our customerFor months we have sought after the supplier insisting that labor should certainly be covered under the manufacturer's policy for a system we installed less then two years agoAfter much time and persistence our supplier has agreed to cover the labor charges on our customers replacement panelThough the labor warranty will only cover $of the billing we are willing to void the remaining balance in hopes that our customer may be satisfiedWe will make sure in the future not to only give verbal estimates over the phone but to have written estimates as well prior to proceeding with any work so that communication is clear between both parties
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2014/05/20) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The panels were on a story roof and could not be viewed easilyThe condensation did worry me from the start, but unfortunately I believed the installer's word that it was common to have that happenIt is very rainy where I live so the leak was thought to be just rain water, until after a dry spell I finally figured it out
I own houses and have never had an issue with repairs by hundreds of tradesman over the yearsThis situation is result of shoddy workmanship, and unethical business practicesBy not giving me an estimate, they essentially trapped me into something that I did not agree to
I feel that I have been taken advantage of by an unscrupulous operatorI have never heard of someone that does a repair under warranty and then later charges you for itI have always had an estimate presented before any work has ever been done to my home

I have always purchased Bissell products. I currently have two, the [redacted] and [redacted]. At first they were both wonderful. With little time, the [redacted] leaks a good amount of water. Their reply, "take it in to be worked on, under your own charge". The [redacted] has not only melted fibers of my new shaggy rug, but you smell and feel how significantly hot it gets after minimal time. Also, it does not suck through the hose. Their reply "send it in for an investigation and we'll let you know a resolution in about 4-6 weeks". That now leaves me purchasing a new vacuum cleaner during the holidays. What help is that? None! I am so sickened by this mess. I will not be purchasing Bissell again. I will be placing the review wherever I may see fit, and know that word of mouth spreads like wildfire. That is not $400 worth of products that are in non working order, within less than 1 year.
