Drawdy Construction Reviews (%countItem)

Contracted with Drawdy Roofing in 2016 to replace my homes roof. The salesman I dealt with praised how much better they were than the competition, how they offered a 5 year guarantee and how much they valued customer satisfaction. He also stated they would finish the job even if it required working on the weekend. The job was started on a Thursday and went into Friday. Later Friday afternoon they ran out of shingles before the job was finished. I called the salesman *** personally to tell him the crew needed more shingles but I was told nothing could be done until Monday. So much for the promise of working on the weekend to finish the job. That was the first red flag! Now on Friday, May 10, 2019 I noticed a wet spot on the ceiling in my kitchen from a roof leak. Keep in mind the roof is not quite 3 years old yet. Drawdy was contacted first thing the following Monday since the roof was still under the 5 year guarantee. The Drawdy representative made the statement they don't guarantee storm damage. They were told the roof didn't have any storm damage but had started leaking because of some other reason. They were asked if they could send someone to try and determine the cause of the leak but we were told they didn't have anyone they could send. We reminded her of the 5 year guarantee and she said she would have to talk to *** and would get back with us. We never heard back from Drawdy, so we called twice more and were given the same excuse of not having a repair crew. It appears that the 5 year guarantee from Drawdy is not worth the paper it is printed on so I can absolutely NOT recommend Drawdy Roofing to anyone.

Impropper installation and insurance won't cover damage to to that reason.
I got a roof installed about 7 years ago. When the hurricane came through here the roof was damaged about 80-90%. The insurance adjuster disagreed but the insurance company agreed and sent a roofing engineer. After his inspection and report it was determined it was due to faulty installation.

Desired Outcome

Roof replacement and an engineer not apart of the company to inspect it is correct this time.

We replaced the roof for the customer on 4/19/2012. There have been no reports from the customer of any issues with the roof until after the Hurricane on October 10, 2018. Our town and surrounding towns were directly affected by Hurricane Michael. This customers house is also located in the affected area of the storm. According to this customers insurance company, there was no damage found on the roof. According to the engineer report supplied to us by the customer, there are no shingles missing, creased, torn or gouged on any slopes. With that being said, this roof has been subjected to extreme weather conditions over the past 2 years, including tornadoes, straight line winds, and Hurricane Michael which has been upgraded to a category 5. It was a Cat 2 when it came through Albany, and Lee County.
The debris that is found under and around the shingle tabs are a result of hurricane force winds. The lifted corners of the shingle tabs are caused by hurricane force winds. These are minor issues considering the extreme winds, rain, and debris that the roof has been subjected to in the past 2 years. The roof held and performed as designed and was not improperly installed. Had the roof been installed incorrectly 7 years ago, the customer would of had issues long before a Cat 2 Hurricane came through our area. We did speak with the customer concerning this issue and explained to him that we agreed with his Insurance Company in that we did not see any damage on the roof that would constitute his insurance company paying for a new roof nor did we believe that the roof was installed incorrectly. We provide a 5-year labor warranty on all our roofs. Any other defects found concerning shingles should be directed to the manufacturer or insurance company.
Thank you.

I have a 49 page roofing engineer report that disagreed and provides all the information. My insurance company adjuster said nondama5but they disagreed and paid for a roofing engineer. He found plenty of damage in his 49 page report which I would be happy to send as I sent them. And the engineer states were the debris comes from and shows it in pictures adhesive not bonded to below shingles and nails way to high. I know they won't do this but went with them based on your rating and oothers. I will soon anyone can réad my report on any website that allows reviews. Sad a company like this would disregard a engineers report and not once want to come look for themselves. Just dismiss it outright.

The adjuster who came to look at the customers roof determined NO damage, but the customer disagreed and in instances such as those, insurance companies will send an engineer out. We disagree with the engineer with what he mentioned in his report of shingles not being installed properly. For one, if the shingles were not bonded properly or at all, Hurricane force winds would have absolutely blown the shingles off, but according to the engineer, no shingles were missing. Also, the engineers report shows ONE high nail, which was only about an inch too high, a common mistake, that has not caused any issues with his roof since we installed it in 2012.
We are very sorry that the customer is going through this but we cannot be held liable for a 7 year old roof that held up beautifully through some of the worst storms our town has ever seen. We understand those types of storms can cause significant damage to roofs and the customer came out lucky compared to others in our area, who had total roof destruction plus more. We hate that it has led to a strained relationship with the customer and wish him all the best in getting this resolved.

The 49 page report from a roofing engineer that also did over 100 homes here and found mostly it was wind did not here. Not only that they still did not right a letter disputing like they promised. Never came to see it in person. There explanation and reason can't be taken seriously when it's laid out by an engineer. They don't have one so either they hire one like I said to them and the insurance company stated they would take it and look at it. They have done zero except call me after 3 weeks and many calls to them.
