Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: [redacted] [redacted] *** [redacted] *** [redacted] [redacted] First of all, I have reason to believe that [redacted] owner of Dr.Bobs auto service was up to no good from the beginning as I requested his service for my vehicle repair.I made it clear to [redacted] that I had limited funds to repair this vehicle and to keep me informed of any and all charges before hand.It took him several days before he advised me that he couldn't find the problem with the vehicleHe then said that he will need to have someone else look at the vehicleMy question to him was, what do I owe sofar and he responded with, "Don't worry about it"That kinda brought up a red flag but, I needed the car repaired therefore agreeing to let someone else look at itWe left it at that.Several days later I returned to the shop to check the status since I had not heard anything yetAt that visit I find out that my vehicle is at the Ford dealership in [redacted] , Tx about miles awayI then asked [redacted] to have them return my vehicle because, I know that most dealerships are pretty expensive and I thought that he had someone locallyI was under the impression that he had agreed, so I left the shop.Giving him plenty of time to get my vehicle back I returned a couple of weeks laterCome to find out that my vehicle was still at the dealershipAgain he agreed to have my vehicle returned. When I left the shop I decided to visit the dealership to see for myself that my vehicle was indeed thereUpon my arrival I met with the service person that was handling my vehicle and he advised me that I have a bill of over $dollars for a tune up that supposedly was performed and that the catalytic converters needed to be replacedI then told this service person that the only work authorized was a diagnosis check and that I would get back with himHe also told me that the cost to replace the converters was going to cost over $closer to $4000.I then returned to the shop a few days later to find that my vehicle was finally returnedI asked [redacted] about the cost so far and he responded with an outrageous figure of $dollarsI responded that I was going to need time to come up with that amount of money.I was medically retired from my government job after years and after suffering from a vehicle accident causing multiple injuriesMost recently I was diagnosed with GBS, which causes paralysis, coma, and most cases deathI was very lucky per my Neurologist to have recovered almost completely after several months of rehabI have been retired for about years now and trying to survive on a small pension from my employer and that is the reason why I couldn't afford to pay too much for this repair.I was finally well enough to tell my wife where the vehicle was and to have my uncle pick it up for usMy uncle is a master mechanic from the Austin area and was very upset at DrBob's due to the fact that he believes that I was way over charged for whatever work was done to the vehicleHe said that the vehicle's engine does not even start, so how was a tune up performed. The vehicle was returned in worse shape than when it was delivered to DrBob'sAnd there is no way that $dollars worth of work was done to this vehicle. Therefore that leaves me to believe that [redacted] is not being very honest forcing me to file a complaint with the Attorney Generals Office and a investigation ----------- END OF STATEMENT
