Didn't live up to expectation
Covered pergola was a comedy of errors, miscommunications & delays. Still frustrated about results 3 yrs later, especially when it rains.

I read many positive reviews for Dreamcatcher Construction. Asked questions. Still there were questions I didn't know to ask. At the end, they wanted to add $700 due to materials. Settled on $500. Yeah I'm still bitter.

FRUSTRATIONS
1. Months in delays before starting project even with start date
2. Was almost built horizontal to house instead of vertically -- possible sketch by sales?
3. Incorrect orientation = incorrect wood lengths delivered = another delay
4. Less cross beams used due to cover but beams placed horizontal to the house are unequally spaced. COMPANY RESPONSE: added extra beam at my insistance. RESULT: Better. Still unequal spacing.
5. One missing bracket hardware where support attaches to the roof
6. Build was to extend to detached laundry room for raincover. Stops short. COMPANY RESPONSE: Clearance needed. RESULT: Waterfall between pergola & laundry room door.
7. First rain, waterfall occurred outside back door & along length attached to house. COMPANY RESPONSE: It's a pergola. Sent someone to fix with roof tiles weeks later. RESULT: Better but still leaked. (Another company repaired roofline during roof replacement.)
8. Leaks across middle where two covers overlap. COMPANY RESPONSE: Attempted fix with added caulking at seam, weeks later. RESULT: Leaks less. Looks like crap. Still get rained on sitting under it.
9. Backdoor overhang removed for pergola attachment. Left for me to touch-up the paint.
10. Unstained wood used to add stairs off back stoop. Great design, but shouldn't have been left for me to stain.
11. Step has a thin edge piece that threatens to snap when stepped on.
12. Like stained wooden railing replacing metal railing.

Didn't lived up to expectations. Not sure was worth thousands of dollars. Freestanding pergola kit would have been less expensive, looked better & wouldn't leak during rain.
