My furniture was delivered damaged.Good morning, I didn't believe that you resolved disputes, but a friend insisted that I contact you. I purchased through Mattress and Furniture Depot in West Spfld. on May 29th of this year a 3 piece coffee table set for $188.99. I moved into my new apt on June 5th and the tables were delivered on June 7th. They were damaged. I have pictures. When the driver dropped them off and unpacked them I said they are damaged, I thought they were new? He said, If they were new, they would have been in a box. You have to call the store.Well this has been ongoing the rest of the month. I can't communicate with them, it's like talking with a wall. [redacted] is the one who waited on me and whenever I called he'd say nothing he can do, it's store policy that I had to accept it and that he didn't see the damage when he wrapped the tables and neither did [redacted] the [redacted].I asked to have it replaced and he said it was the last one. And I asked for money back but said he couldn't do it.I was sick but I asked the friend who originally was with me when I bought the furniture to come to my home and take pictures of the furniture and we'd go up there, since they weren't asking to see the damage. We went up there and showed[redacted] the pictures and then he said he'd have to get in touch with the [redacted] and that he didn't see the damage. It would be hard to miss.He said he'd call me and he did later that day and said, We value our customers and the [redacted] would take care of me. And he'd call me back which he did and said he'd give me a credit which I'd have to spend in the store.I didn't want a credit. I wanted my $188 back. I told him I spent over $1000 in the store and $188.00 shouldn't be a big deal since they delivered damaged furniture to me. I returned the furniture to the store as requested and asked to get my money back on June 18th. He said he couldn't. He said he'd speak to the [redacted] who was unavailable until next week. I asked for the number but he wouldn't give it to me. His tone is salty as this point.A friend who does business with them gave me the number of a [redacted] who is the [redacted] and I spoke with him June 24th and he was rude and not helpful at all. He said the driver told him that it wasn't damaged when he brought it to my house. I asked him to make the driver available, because that wasn't true. I believe that [redacted] lied. He then said, He normally doesn't even call a customer back. In other words, I should be grateful he's calling me. He went on about policy. I told him I've been in customer service for a while and policy goes out the window when damaged furniture has been delivered to the customer. He kept saying the same thing. I got nowhere. Ms. [redacted] had purchased as is goods, all of her goods were delivered as floor models. She signed at time of delivery that "she received products in good condition" she called after a day to complain that her tables were damaged. We asked for pictures and after reviewing pictures, it was not purchased or delivered in that condition. We would go out of business if intentionally delivered damaged products to our consumers. Despite the fact,we offered store credit for the amount and she agreed because it was more than a reasonable offer. Then after understanding she received store credit, she started cursing at me and told me she would never come back. At that time we didn't want a customer that would cheat and then create fuss about an error that had happened by her. [redacted], the [redacted] had to call her because she was not understanding that we have reached our max and have gone above and beyond to credit her in full for an error not caused by us. When [redacted] spoke to her, she kept cursing and hung up after saying "I'm never going to shop there and you can kiss my black [redacted]" [redacted] was extremely shocked at her rudeness. Ms. [redacted] is being very unreasonable here, after the fact she came in the store on Tuesday the 15th of July to purchase a coffee table set and had applied her store credit towards the purchase.After the fact of being very rude and applying store credit towards her purchase, this complaint needs to be dropped immediately.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Good morning,This is all water under teh bridge. I gave the credit to my friend as a graduation gift. The thought of entering that store and looking at liars was a bit unsettling, but I had to do it. They never asked for pictures. [redacted] never told me it was a floor model that I was getting for the coffee tables. I didn't create my own error. (as said by [redacted])And the error wasn't caused by me.I didn't destry my own furniture. I'm a wonderful, vital, well stabled person of society. Not a psychopath. (as said by [redacted])And [redacted] knows this to be untrue.
