Dream Dry Reviews (2)

Review: On Sunday July **, 2013 I [redacted] went to Dreamdry Salon. I had an appointment at 2:20pm with [redacted], she asked me what I wanted so I showed her a picture of a wave hair style that I saw online. She took me to wash my hair and I told her that I had just gotten extensions and to please be careful. She stated she had experience which made me feel at ease. It had only been 5 days (the extensions were put in on July *, 2013) since I had my extensions put in. I was on [redacted]s chair for over 2 hours. While she was working on my hair she handed me 2 pieces of the hair extensions. This is my first time with extensions so I was really surprised at why they had fallen off if I had just gotten them put in. It didnt make sense but I was already so disappointed with her performance that I didnt pay much attention to it. She was unable to deliver the hair style that I had asked for and in the process she burnt all of my new and very expensive extensions, even after I told her repeatedly to please be careful. The name brand of my extensions is Socap by She and these are 100% real hair extensions. I had a wedding that Sunday and a very busy work week to come. On Tuesday 7/**/13 another extension fell off, so I called the salon were they put them on to ask why they were falling off. I was told me to come in but I was unable to until Friday 7/**/13 due to my hectic work schedule, by that time 2 more had fallen off. Due to it being my first time having extensions I didnt know how their supposed to look. Especially how the keratin was suppose to look. Since Sunday I hadnt washed my hair because I the feared of any more extensions falling off. In only one week a total of 5 hair extensions had fallen. Once I got to the salon and the hair dresser started to look at my extensions and he was in shock. He couldnt believe what [redacted], the hair stylist at DreamDry had done to me, my hair, and my extensions. Theres not one extension out of the 3 bundles that I have on that she did not burn. He was surprised at the hair stylists negligence. I was devastated on Friday unable to understand why someone that had received so many great reviews could do this. I went to DreamDry salon because its [redacted] salon a very well known stylist that even has a show on the Bravo network, believing I would have a great experience. I had researched this salon and had heard nothing but amazing things about it. I felt confident that I would be placing my $1,500+ extensions in good hands. Once I was able to calm down and think a little straight through thats when I called the salon and spoke to [redacted] regarding this very unfortunate situation that [redacted] caused me. I work in the entertainment business and being bald is not an option as a matter of fact its unacceptable. I cant believe that she would do that after I told her to please be careful, that they were just put in and that they were very expensive. I even told her that they were like my babies that this was my first time, and that I want them to last for a long time. I told [redacted] how much I loved them and how much I had been wanting them. I opened up to her and really expressed my feelings toward these extensions and for her to do what she did to me really hurts me. I got these extensions because I dont have a lot of hair and the little I do have is really thin and has no volume. For her to burn them to the point that 5 fell off is outrageous. The hair salon and hair dressers were I got the extensions from, were amazed at what she did to the extensions. She burned the keratin and dragged it down my hair causing clumps of keratin to spread all over my real hair, causing my own hair to get tangled into the keratin which was holding my extension to my own hair and glued the root of hair that did not have extensions to the burnt keratin. Since she created the clumps of keratin by burning the keratin and causing the hair to be pulled from the root blisters were created on my scalp.Im writing this complaint, in hopes that we can come to an agreement of a reimbursement for the damage. I do not think it is fair that I have to go through this inconvenience because of your hair stylists negligence. It would be unfortunate for me to have to go as far as taking legal action. I hope to hear from you soon. Unfortunately DreamDry was unable to resolve my complaint and they were unable to provide me with their insurance information to file a claim. This is why I have to now take this matter to the Revdex.com, Consumer Affairs & the Small Claims Court.Desired Settlement: To be reimbursed for the cost of the extensions that were burnt ($1500), the cost of the removal ($400) of those burnt extensions and the cost of the new extensions ($1500).

Response:

We have been in communication directly with the customer since this incident was first reported. We take these accusations very seriously and have investigated this claim both internally and externally. We have offered to compensate her for alleged actual damages, however she has been unable to provide official receipts and documentation to backup her claims. In addition, we have found many inconsistencies in her story.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

It has been 2 months since this horrible situation happened. Since the day I filed the complaint, I’ve spoken to three different staff members from DreamDry Salon: [redacted] and [redacted] and none have been able to resolve the situation. This complaint arose from a situation that one of their hairstylists caused. It was caused by their employee’s negligence. In their response, they state that "we are in communication", being in communication would mean that my calls have been returned. We’ve been in contact a few times and they‘ve requested documentation. I’ve provided as much documentation as possible (see attached). They also state, that they have "offered to compensate”, what they have done is, offer to refund me the amount I paid on the day that this incident occurred as well as to come in for complimentary services, which is absurd, if the reason behind this complaint is for negligence and damage to not only my extensions but to me physically. I am not sure, why they believe that I would be interested in using their services again. Especially, after, they’ve taken no sense of responsibility for their employee’s actions. In addition, they also stated that I have not provided "official receipts or documentation" which is false. I’ve attached documentation that I sent to them directly. I also, find it very unprofessional that they asked to give them a date and time to speak and I made arrangements to be available and they never called. They seem to find inconsistencies with my story, but I have provided them with enough evidence for them to clear up these “inconsistencies”.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

After extensive internal investigation and dialogue with both [redacted] and the salon where she claims the extensions were purchased & applied, we have concluded that we are unable to take responsibility for the alleged damages to [redacted]. We have continued to try to resolve this situation and have repeatedly asked for official receipts & documented payment information that is not handwritten - we have not received any of these documents to date. Therefore, at this point we must conclude that the alleged damages can not be supported and wish to close this case immediately.
