Revdex.com spoke to [redacted] at business and the following was relayed: Everything has been resolved

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me Revdex.com received the following message from the consumer: Building Solutions has finished with the product, the shedIt does not have any more leaks Regards, [redacted]

In response to the [redacted] complaint, I had contacted Mr [redacted] on Monday, August 3rd, over the phoneI had gone over our issue regarding his roofWhen signing the contract for the roof and gutters, Mr [redacted] had selected ***' "dove grey" for the color of shingles he desired to be installed (after a sample of the shingles was shown to him)The "dove grey" is ***' charcoal color equivalentMr [redacted] had taken off from work the day that the roof was installed to ensure that he could monitor the work being done to his homeI followed up with him during the course of that day to ensure that everything was running to his satisfaction during the roof installment, of which he confirmed to meRegarding his dissatisfaction of the lighter than desired shade of shingles, the [redacted] (manufacturer's) credit of $was just received last week (see attached document) and will soon be given to Mr***We had installed the spray foam insulation (in the areas noted in the contract document, attachedBecause the paper size was in "legal" format, the scanned attachment is in two separate files) that same day and have yet to be paid for itMy estimate for him to install the spray foam was from $2800-$(as denoted on the contract)The final price of the spray foam insulation installment came out to be $I apologize for not installing the gutters promptly (especially because I was paid for it)This delay was not intentionalThe gutter order was recently put in and the gutters will be installed by FridayThank you-Todd HBuilding Solutions

To my knowledge, when *** had given us the check last week to complete the payment for our work done at her home, she stated she was completely satisfied with the workNo displeasure or complaints were ever voiced to me prior to this report to the Revdex.comWe take pride in quality workmanship and
customer serviceIn light of this, it was certainly unfair to never have notified me of displeasure before filing the complaintWe have contacted Sue and will be at her home to remedy the situation within the next few daysThank you and Merry Christmas! -Todd HBuilding Solutions

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below

Regards,

The shed at the *** residence was not installed properly, initiallyOver the course of the last few days, steps have been taken to reconstruct the roof and to correct for the improper initial construction of the shedBuilding Solutions apologizes for the delay in response to this issue, and
for the improper installment of the shed, originallyWe hope that the shed repairs can correct for any past wrong-doing

Building Solutions has resolved the problem and we spoke with *** ***It was an existing wood structure that we erected ontoWe were not contracted to construct the foundation of the shedThe leaking is occurring through the bottom of the shed. Due to a Revdex.com website malfunction, today's response to ***'s Revdex.com reply was emailed before completion of our messageWhen *** had submitted her response on July 29th, our work on the shed was ongoing (in the midst of repairs)Over the last weeks, we have done our best to remedy the problems occurring in the shedYesterday, heavy rain fell on the Western New York areaThere is still some minor leaking coming from the base of the shed (which we found out after communication with *** today)We were not contracted to construct a new wood foundation for the new shed, but rather we used a previously existing foundationWe are working now to try and fix this minor leakingThank youSincerely, Todd H

See attached pictures. Our contract not involve any disturbance of the flat roofs of the home. • We installed all new rake edge and counter flashing on the side walls (as seen in the middle of Figure 1 against the side wall) where Mr. [redacted] had a concern for potential problematic areas. • The...

gutters have straps that adhere to the underside of the roofline and inhibited the proper installation of drip edge in the few areas that they could have been installed (left side of Figure 1). Involvement with the right side of Figure 1 was not part of BSI's contract. • Please notice that drip edge was installed completely along the rake edge of the roof line, even around the left side of the 2nd floor (as depicted in Figure 1), where no gutter had been installed previously. • Please note that in Figure 2, counter flashing was installed in the area Mr. [redacted] expressed concern with• We installed all new rake edge and counter flashing on the side walls (as seen in the middle of Figure 1 against the side wall) where Mr. [redacted] had a concern for potential problematic areas. • The gutters have straps that adhere to the underside of the roofline and inhibited the proper installation of drip edge in the few areas that they could have been installed (left side of Figure 1). [redacted] expressed concern with (middle of picture). • In Figure 3, BSI did not touch the flat roof portions of the residence (not contained in contract). Unfortunately, this was the location of Mr. [redacted]' problems after our work had been completed. The water went over the edge (top of Figure 3) and went down the side of the house and into the window. • Figure 4 represents the same location as Figure 3. At this time, in early March 2015, Mr. [redacted] and I shipped approximately 18-24" of ice from the top of the flat roof, enabling discharge of 6-8" of standing water on the back side of the ice dam. Figure 5 is a visualization of the thickness of the ice chipped from the original ice dam (as shown in Figure 4). As noted in Figure 6, counter flashing was properly installed along the side wall. Again, the flat roof was not involved in any work that BSI performed. • As seen in Figure 8, 6-7 feet of snow was on the roof in early March, 2015. The snow depression on the upper-left of Figure 8 was where there was 6-8" of standing water due to profuse heat loss. When I, Todd H., shoveled the roof to create a channel for this water excess to discharge off the roof. This excessive snow accumulation significantly exceeded the structural limitations of the roof/shingles. The peak at the top-right of Figure 8 corresponds to the bottom of the picture of Figure 7. 2.0 Steps Taken for Issue Resolution with Mr. [redacted].  • Please note that BSI responded in a timely manner to Mr. [redacted]' call to shovel snow/chip ice on 2 separate occasions in March, 2015, in an attempt to alleviate his excessive ice damming/standing water issue. BSI performed this snow shoveling/ice chipping_free of charge to Mr. [redacted]. • BSI also worked directly with Mr. [redacted]' insurance adjustor to help remedy his claim. With the excessive snow load, approximately 6-7', coupled with the heat loss of the home, the hydraulics would have pushed the water into the dwelling (therefore causing issues experienced). Problems experienced at Mr. [redacted]' residence occurred due to excessive snow/ice/water accumulation on his roof, not due to improper/insufficient work by BSI. • BSI was hired to install a layover (install new shingles atop existing shingle layer) and in doing so was perfonned in a professional, work-like manner coinciding with the signed contract between Mr. [redacted] and BSI. • Installation of ice and water shield around the eves was NOT part of our signed contract with Mr. [redacted], nor did he experience any problems in those corresponding areas. The problem source, instead, was in the flat roof areas (which BSI was not contracted for any involvement). BSI will re-seal (coat) those flat areas with a flat roof coating at no charge to Mr. [redacted]. This coating will be applied promptly.

Mr. [redacted] had taken off from work the day that the roof was installed to ensure that he could monitor the work being done to his home. I followed up with him during the course of that day to ensure that everything was running to his satisfaction during the roof installment, of which he confirmed to me. Regarding his dissatisfaction of the lighter than desired shade of shingles, the [redacted] (manufacturer's) credit of $300 was just received last week (see attached document) and will soon be given to Mr. [redacted]. We had installed the spray foam insulation (in the areas noted in the contract document, attached. Because the paper size was in "legal" format, the scanned attachment is in two separate files) that same day and have yet to be paid for it. My estimate for him to install the spray foam was from $2800-$3400 (as denoted on the contract). The final price of the spray foam insulation installment came out to be $3180. I apologize for not installing the gutters promptly (especially because I was paid for it). This delay was not intentional. The gutter order was recently put in and the gutters will be installed by Friday. Thank you. -Todd H. Building Solutions

Mr. [redacted], on June 10th, 2015, and I (Todd H.) came to a resolution to conclude the Revdex.com complaint.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  I don't believe that they are a reliable company to deal with. We have agreed to a resolution, but it is one less than I had possibly hoped for.
