From the very beginning *** *** has had problems with Mr***. It took numerous attempts to contact him regarding his template and installation. He had given phone numbers that no one would answer and one that did not have a voicemail box that was set up. We made numerous attempts to contact him. Then he would email saying that no one had ever contacted him. Finally he called us back and we got things set up. He wanted us to take our shoes off to work in his house and our template man told him that we would not because it is a OSHA violation. He told the home owner that we would be as careful as possible. On day of install our crew showed up to his home to start the install. We were contracted to only tear out the existing laminate counter tops, not the tile splash. Mr*** threw a fit with the installers and told them he had paid to have the bottom row of tile splash torn out. So the installers tried to make him happy and take out the bottom row of splash. He instantly started calling Pro Source the company we are contracted with about how the guys are destroying his house by using a hammer and chisel. The guys tried to tell him that you have to use a hammer and chisel to take out tile. He would not listen. So then he started in about how they are cracking grout and destroying the floors. They kept the work area very clean and did not get anything on the floor except for a little dust. After taking out the existing tile they removed the laminate counter tops. At the wall by the peninsula when they were removing the counter tops it caused a little scuff in the texture about 1" x 1" this is when you remove existing counter tops that are caulked to the wall. The installers started installing the counter tops and splash and Mr*** then called *** *** to start complaining about the work. I tried to explain to him on the phone and all he would do is interrupt and raise his voice about how we are destroying his house. I told him I would go over and see for myself. I arrived at his house about minutes later. When I arrived I met with my installers and started walking the job with them. There was no damage to his floor. I looking around and did not see anything out the for what we were doing. Then Mr*** and his wife come in and started raising his voice about how were are damaging their house. So they then started showing me all these huge problems and I did not see anything that was huge. They were complaining about The grout on the upper tiles cracking and some of it was falling out. This is when you only demo the bottom row of tile. I tried to explain this to them and they told me that I was pretty much full it. Then they showed me another area where the original tile setter had used grout instead of caulking against a cabinet. So when we removed the tile the grout fell out against the cabinet. There is nothing we can do about this. I again tried to explain to them that this is and they will just need to touch up the little areas. This made them even madder so I asked MrChan to show me where he paid for the tile removal and of course he couldn't. So I told him that he got the tile tear out for free when he wasn't supposed to so then he bacame even more upset and then showed me a spot in the dry wall where the original laminate counter top had beena nd when they guys removed it it had pulled some of the drywall and paint away. I again tried to explain to him that we can not protect against little stuff like this and that this is normal. Then he started to call me stupid and my crew stupid. This is when I raised my voice and told him don't ever call anyone on my crew stupid. So he then told me I should leave so I pulled my crews off they job. I will not have any of my crews subjected to people like this. We have the right to leave a job when the home owners are being rude and degrading. Also the cuts around the outlets are well within tolerance. They are as close as you can cut them in the field
